Hay man. I've been checking your whole video out and i love it.With that said i am about to make my first smoker, and maybe my only 1. A few 25 years ago i weld for this 1 company, so this is why i am doing this. I am 68 now and i want to try this while i still got life in me. My ideal going to be some what from your but a little difference. I have a 75 or 80 gallons tank and it will be a back yard and hy-way ready. It will be a reverse smoker. You've done a good job with that smoker!

Thank you Frank! Nothing like the oldies! No music these days has any soul and it does not matter what genre. Glad you are enjoying this build. It is almost done now.

The Georgia beast. Awesome job, had little trouble viewing the video. Now can’t wait for painting
@StephenOgle4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Donald! Can you tell me the problem and where in the video it happened. I just watched it and found no problems on my PC and would like to see what is going on. You are the first of two people who have had problems viewing. Glad you are enjoying this project. Painting is next.

Stephen Ogle it’s was three times that it stopped one when you was working on the smoke stack the others it was close to that time frame. Look I been following you for a long time and I’m sure glad you made it back because I did learn some wood turning from you. I love your videos because you my friend are absolutely awesome

If you have access to a sand blaster using walnut shells maybe for paint removal ?? Using sand is a mess but might be faster ! cant wait to see it SMOKE !!
@StephenOgle4 жыл бұрын
Thank you David. I actually have a sandblaster and am going to try to use it. I find that PlaySand works very well as long as it is dry and not trying to clog the line. Great suggestion and thanks again.

I think it will work well. The draft should pull quite well and keep new hot smoke coming through. Maybe a new learning curve. Lee

Hello Steve, looks like your going to do a lot more welding videos. A fellow You Tuber by the name JIMBO’S GARAGE I learned a lot from him and the way he set his garage up and welding bench. Your Smoker BBQ is looking fantastic. You should invite us over for some good BBG. We can bring the cold ones.

Thank you David. I like the cold ones, brother. I will check out Jimbo's Garage.

Thank you sir. I don't know what is happening with the video. A couple of people are reporting problems. Seems to be working good on a PC. Can you tell me what you are watching it on so I can investigate with KZbin? Thank you again.

Enjoying this build, Stephen. I was on the phone partly on this one but did you say what the advantage of the cross flow? Lee
@StephenOgle4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Lee. The reverse flow should provide more even heating. Instead of intense heat on the firebox end going to a lower heat on the exhaust end. The heat must travel under the cooking surface to the other end and then come back to the firebox side to exhaust. We will see if it works.

Great job Stephen, what fuel will you be using? Have you thought about a storage rack on the bottom for some of the fuel (wood, charcoal or pellets)?
@StephenOgle4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Henry. I am sorry for the delay in getting back to you sir. I will be burning wood splits. I think the under smoker storage is a great idea. The only problem is the room under there. I only have about 9 inches of clearance. When I buy or build a trailer It will have storage for wood. Thank you sir for watching and for your suggestion.

Are you mounting a temperature gauge on it or just going with probes that read to a smart phone?
@StephenOgle4 жыл бұрын
I will be using both. I have two temp gauges to install and also an electronic probe. I will install them before painting. Glad you are enjoying this project.

Just an observation, I think I would have put the drain closer to one end and then elevated the smoker a bit on the other end to drain out the gunk. Being in the center you may have grease pooling at one end or the other if it isn't perfectly level. Nice build by the way looks like you will have good results from it.
@StephenOgle4 жыл бұрын
Thank you sir. I agree with your observation and any smokers I build in the future will be drained on one side or the other just as you suggest. Glad you are enjoying this build. I am almost done and ready to cook.

Some of your welds look a little on the cold side
@StephenOgle3 жыл бұрын
Thank you sir. I think there are plenty of cold welds. I am very new to welding and am not a pro. The smoker is still together and working very well, despite my shortcomings as a welder though. Take care.

Something went wrong with the video
@StephenOgle4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Harry for letting me know. You are the third person to mention a problem. Will you tell me what happened so I can investigate. It is playing fine on my computer and could be a problem when KZbin processed the video for viewing on multiple platforms. Thank you again.
