Hi hope the answer to the question will it run after being in the box for 40 years is "yes" this time ! Otherwise this is going to be a very short toy tuesday video ! Stephenson's Rocket was an early steam locomotive built in 1829. Stephenson designed Rocket for the Rainhill Trials, and the specific rules of that contest, as the first railway intended for passengers more than freight,
the rules emphasised speed and would require reliability, but the weight of the locomotive was also tightly restricted, Stephenson's Rocket won hands down. horby made this version of the Rocket in 1980, and have just re-released an all new Stephenson's Rocket in oo scale, for model railway enthusiasts for Hornby's centenary.

I am not a big train guy, but the rocket is one of the few that interest me, that is a clever and realistic rocket, I am well impressed in the mechanics, plus its amazing you got a replacement gas cylinder for it, amazing.

There’s no controller with this one it runs under its own steam power. Hope you enjoyed the video. M

I have the same problem with mine not taking gas can you advise where to get parts?

it was a common fault apparently, the seal perishes and they leak out. it was a shock to me trying to light it 😂😂 i got my replacement from ebay but there are cheaper alternatives on line if you do a bit of hunting around. thank you for your comment, stay safe. M

Omg never use a blow touch on steam engines as it weakens the solder and could explode later on when its being use i would not buy any thats had a blow touch used on them

We did joke about a potential trip to a&e if that went wrong, but we didn’t put it under any stress for long, and Danger is my middle name ! 😂😂 it’s a museum display and won’t go for sale. We just wanted to see it running one time.
