It's a pleasure to watch "what not to do". very rarely professionals give such thoughts to others which helps to improve others. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the advices teacher!!!; I'm still trying to understand perspective from an intuitive way because the most of tutorials in YT are always the same with only mechanical ways to work. I discover your channel about one month ago and I'm reviewing your playlist for perspective and it's so good; thanks a lot, and greetings from Mexico.

Did you see the video before this one? Basic Perspective, a Different Way. It’s the way I think about perspective when I draw, and I think is a more intuitive approach. No vanishing points!😀

Do you do any landscape art?? I'd love to see YOUR process.... for example the scene you are in in this video.

I have a video on drawing a country lane which is the closest I’ve come to landscape kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXqVpGeepLJ5f5Y Though I’ve done a few Australian bush scenes recently as well. But not so much the grand landscape view.

Great advice! Love the nature backgrounds! I am always drawing faces of family or random magazine or Internet faces - that’s what I am trying to improve on.

Keep practicing what you want to improve on. I’m not focussed on portraits myself, though I have a daughter where that’s her absolute favourite art subject. But take time to look over your work and critique it. Get a focus for how you want to develop your skills and style. All the best. 😀

I had a section on this that I edited out because the video was too long. But perhaps it could be it’s own video. It’s an important topic I think. Stay tuned. 😀

🤔 I believe that watching the "erroneous" tutorials is as important a step in the process as making practical errors. learning to recognize good information comes from a cycle of study and practice. watching anything that crosses one's path *or* being overly controlled from the start can both set up barriers to a student's development. that said, this is another reason it's important to have a teacher or mentor, someone who can share with you the benefit of their experience navigating the process and contextualizing the information.

Anything worth learning to do well, MUST be worth doing very poorly in the beginning... Musashi Miyamoto said, "Everything is difficult in the beginning." in his "A Book of Five Rings"... AND it's as true for arts and crafts as it is for riding motorcycles, climbing mountains, or fighting with swords. ;o)

Believing artistic talent is innate is a massive hinderance. You wouldn't expect to be able to build a table the first time you pick up a saw.
