as someone who knows a lot about the music business there seems to be a lot of parallels here. the constant want for the same thing over and over by consumers. my favourite band is the smashing pumpkins and their singer talks incredibly openly about the expectations of fans towards him to be a sad, gothic, vampire character that he portrayed in their heyday while he just lives his life as himself, a normal 54 year old

What I’ve noticed about nearly any reason for why someone doesn’t like TikTok is because of something that some people do sometimes, but they say it like it happens all the time. Like sure there are people that will get famous off of a video and then beat that joke to the ground, but that’s only like .1% of the comedy community in tiktok. He says himself He loves shock/unexpected humour, and I’d argue that takes up a huge fraction of comedy on TikTok
