I don't think the hospital would call him in real life. They would call police straight immediately after they found arsenic. It was rather obvious he was poisoned. How doctors could know it wasn't dad. I 'm surprised they trusted him enough to inform him what happened. Besides, I thought everyone knew what arsenic is. As for stepmother, she wasn't too smart if her stepson died suddenly they would do autopsy and charged for murder first degree.
