Hi Paul Greetings from Melbourne, Australia where I’ve lived for many years. I love all your videos and they bring back old memories. I was brought up in Springboig facing St John’s Remand Home and Larchgrove Remand Home and lived at 132 Tanfield Street. It would be great to have a video of Springboig and Greenfield where I went to Thorntree Primary School and later Eastbank Academy in Shettleston. I still miss Scotland very much but your videos cheer me up and reminds me of the good old days. Please keep up with your great work. Martha (née Agnew)

I was brought up in craigend, stay in millerston now, so loved this video as it covered nearly all my long walk route when I'm kidding on I'm losing weight LOL. We used to sneak into the playing fields as kids back in the 80s, had loosened some fences slats up the back of the long lane 🙂 and had many a fantastic game of football on those magnificent grass pitches.... until the " watchy " would chase us off. Even back then they were hardly ever used for games of football so agree no idea why the uni has kept them all as the upkeep can't be cheap for how little they are used.

Hi Paul, thanks for this. I have been in that area for the last 70 years so I know it really well. The old camp site was a farm owned by the Moore family and is now called the Red Deer and has quite a few new houses for an older community but still very active. The place you were trying to find as the entrance to the colliery was not where you looked but it was down beside St Joseph's church. The pit bings were removed many years ago to make way for the new housing estate you passed through later in the video

Its disappointing to see all new builds the exact same. You could be anywhere in the country, where did our individuality or our great ideas go .
