As you said, properties of fluid should be considered ay releiving conditions. But in practical, in H&MB we generally dont see operating parameter at relieving conditions (we can only see max temp,min temp, max pressure, min pressure) Where can we get parameters at relieving conditions?

bit off topic, I have experience of steam/condensate outlet to atmosphere, they are to be routed down to drain, otherwise it may lead to hot shower with condensate raining down

only relief rate need to calculate or wetted area need to consider, what input from process need to give to vendor? PSV sizing will be done by vendor.. Bahut confusion he plz explain on comment

It depends on company. If they have good experience in designing PSV they provide directly orifice type and area also. But if they don't have confidence they share relief rate and scenario analysis with vendor he will size and provide the datasheets. Hope this will help you

Sir while sizing PSV we consider frictional losses less than 3%. But why don’t we consider static losses. If PSV is directly installed on the vessel than we can neglect it. But mostly PSV is installed on the Piping. So in this case, why don’t we consider static loss??

Back pressure, suppose there are 4 PSV on a header for 4 different system are connected to the KOD, so the superimposed pressure will consider only due to KOD or we will consider all of the PSV open for back pressure calculation.

In case of wetted pool fire in eg of column if reboiler is isolated and if it falls in range of 7.5 m then it is also to be considered for PSV, like in our case there is thermosyphon reboiler there is no isolation valve so it's area along with column wetted area both to be consider or two different PSV one on column and one on reboiler to be consider pls justify.... Point no 2 for column there is a feed pump and if there is a fire then from discharge valve which is now isolated then the length to the column immediate flange, line hold up how it is to be consider for PSV design.

No muneer. Negative NPSH value will not be acceptable for pump operation. Not only positive you must maintain acceptable NPSHR for pump. For that you can either increase line size or increase the elevation of vessel. Hope this will help you.
