Excellent. It is not the tool that makes the bonsai or how expensive the tool is, it is the person and their view of the tree. Using whatever tools you have is the best and what works for you. Very nice thoughts for the beginner you just put out. Superb!

Also, if you are up in age, 75 here, you can do mini's and be rewarded in a short time with a small tree. Easy bonsai is a geranium. Fast and easy to overwinter as long as you get it in before the first frost. For maple type leaf bonsai geranium they can try the Vancouver Geranium. Nice fall type colors on the leaves all summer long. Just a thought.

Yes! A shohin can look pretty nice is 5 years, whereas a big tree will still look space. You may have 20 more years ahead of you though!

I like the look of juniper in nature. I have been hiking around Arizona, Utah, California, Colorado and i would like to duplicate the wild twists, bends and scars of these old plants. Also to mention the smell is amazing unmistakable...they flavor Gin with the berries.🤗

Very good! Showing people who are a little older that very nice trees can be created. A question I get all the time is " what can I do, I won't be around long enough for any results". This is really helpful. I will pass on Bonsai Heirloom to my classes. Thank You.

Some of the people who come to my classes are older than me. I'm 70 and still planting seeds. Most of my collection is from seed or cuttings. I had to start over after moving to Northern Nevada 23 years ago. This is my third bonsai collection. Some are fairly nice. People are so impatient. Bonsai depends on delayed gratification. What you are showing is so valuable.

Irish Moss. I buy it from Lowes and it looks cool as a small piece of lawn. Bought 3 last year. Might buy 3 more this year. Better than cutting grass. Excellent video. Yes, very constructive. You are a great master at teaching and bonsai.

I always learn something from you. But I don’t always agree with everything. But you have far more experience than I do. As a 62 year old I feel I need to start with more mature trees. I have a tendency to watch for older trees, junipers. I see them everywhere, especially businesses. Some are ideal. Though I do have a pot of cuttings going. It might make for a good conversation.
