Thank you for these wonder posts on such a great play. I just love Pat Carroll and Barbara Ruick in this. I get a laugh when they slur out "meeerely loooooovely!!"

Agreed!!!! I saw this as a 9 year old kid when it first premiered in 1965. I have seen many versions of this and they all are hilarious but no one does it like these two. Sadly, Barbara is no longer with us but Pat is still alive and kicking.

This was a classic!!! Brings back so many memories. I was only 10 when this came out and I've always remembered this song. I've seen different people do this, in some cases, guys playing the roles but no one does it like Pat Carroll and Barbara Ruick.
