Anny Anne The white girl is dorky looking lmao
@christiankrenek76895 жыл бұрын
I always interpreted as their *personalities* being what makes them unattractive. Yes, they are beautiful women, but they also go to the ball specifically hoping to get engaged (in “The Prince is Giving a Ball,” they immediately think “he’ll propose to me!”), unlike Cinderella, who goes to have a nice time and genuinely bonds with the Prince as a person, not just a husband. Even the Stepsisters’ clothes reflect their ugly personalities-they pick the showiest, flashiest clothes to wear, and the outfits don’t flatter them at all. Of course they largely do whatever their mother says, so maybe there’s hope for them! :p
@sammyi.2574 жыл бұрын

When I originally saw this, I really appreciated how both Natalie Desselle Reid and Veanne Cox really have great musical comedy chops. They really commit physically to the complicated movement throughout the song and it feels both stylized and natural. They have such gorgeous clear voices and they enunciate every line so perfectly, everyone gets the jokes. Desselle Reid's fiendish cackle takes it all to a wonderful peak of perfection. I've always loved this song and was so happy that it ended up being so superlatively performed here. Even though I adore Alice Ghostley, Pat Carroll and other great previous stepsisters, these two might be the best of a terrific group.

Yeah, we go from kids blindly supporting the heroine, Cindy... to actually understanding the sisters' frustration that the one they're interested in doesn't reciprocate. Why would a fellow want a girl like her? A frail and fluffy beauty? Why can't a fellow ever once prefer a solid girl like me?! She's a frothy little bubble with a flimsy kind of charm And with very little trouble I could break her little arm! Oh oh why would a fellow want a girl like her? So obviously unusual? Why can't a fellow ever once prefer a usual girl like me?! Her face is exquisite I suppose, but no more exquisite than a rose is. Her skin may be delicate and soft but not any softer that a doe's is. Her neck is no longer that a swan's She's only as dainty as a daisy She's only as graceful as a bird... So why is the fellow going crazy? Oh why would a fellow want a girl like her, A girl who's merely lovely? Why can't a fellow ever once prefer a girl who's merely me?! She's a frothy little bubble with a frilly sort of air and with very little trouble I could pull out all her hair!! Haha ha ha! Why would a fellow want a girl like her, a girl who's merely lovely? Why can't a fellow ever once prefer a girl who's merely me? What's the matter with the man? What's the matter with the man? What's the matter with the man?!
