Happy Tuesday everyone and welcome back. This subject obviously has a special place in our hearts due to how we were raised and now. This was our first time going to a Pride parade together and we were overwhelmed with the support from the community. On Friday, we will be going to Dido's concert here in Portland. It should be fun and Bernardo is really excited to see her. Big hugs to you all and remember we are family here. We are like your little/older brothers here. Stay strong and we are here for you all. Happy Pride.

What a GREAT video! It gave me the “goosies”. The Love & Support expressed by the crowd was incredible. I never get to see this in my everyday life so it gave me a real sense of Pride. I remember my first Pride parade and festival 25 years ago. This is a major step up! Thank you for sharing this special event with us ... and those around the world who may not have this type of celebration. Your personal views on this event is definitely a special added touch. You guys are an inspiration to so many. As always, sending many positive thoughts your way. 😊

Yes, the old days--you forgot to mention though the effect of HIV coming on the scene in the 1980s. Devastating when 'gay culture' was identified with an early and unpleasant death, if not, well then you were going to be a lone old outsider .... great to see the change and the reduction in human suffering that this openness and acceptance can promote.

It's videos like this (actually, all your videos) that will help those who struggle with their identities and sexuality will see and feel good about themselves and that saves lives. "Never apologize for someone you love." "Go out and be proud." How could you not love this lovely couple. Their stories inspires a lot, they're really open to everything most especially if it's a new experiences for the both of them and it's no doubt that it makes them more proud and that what makes them to belove by a lot including me (of course). It's very rare to find someone you can have and love for the rest of your life, but if you have willingly waited for that someone you deserve, it's a very fulfilling one and Adam & Bernardo is one good example of this. So thank you both for inspiring a lot of people esp. me. ❤👬🌈 "Go out and make memories." "Be proud of who you are."

“Never apologize for someone you love” is such a profound statement, and is why marriage equality for gays was so important. Gay marriage is what has allowed so many gay couples to step out of the shadows of shame and step into the light and proclaim that our relationships are as real, worthy and valid as any other. Happy Pride 🤗🥰👬🏳️🌈

Yeah! It is Tuesday! What a great video and tribute to the LGBTQ Community! I am one of the "older" people that you spoke about in your Blog.... I lived in a northern US City in the late 1970's , when we feared for our lives with equality with housing, employment, and going out to Clubs! I remember walking to our favorite restaurant, and there were cars filled with men yelling at us and spitting on us and shouting at us to "die"! I would do it all over again to see us all in this wonderful place today! WE still have a ways to go.... I am happy that I could be part of the equality movement! I love you wonderful men! Hey Guys. I hadn't been keeping up with all your videos of late, so I decided to jump in and check this one out. Nice to see another pride parade and your perspective commentary. I always like to check out what other cities are doing. I agree with you, there is a stronger political and family orientation to the pride parades in the United States. Boston's is really welcoming; it's a real family event, as well as being strongly supported by businesses, both large and small. Nice to see you both out there. You are true role models - younger gay folks and, those who are not gay, need to see two people of the same sex in a loving, happy and productive relationship. Keep up the good work!

It is so nice to watch you two just simply love each other with such ease. It was not always like that as you have acknowledged so kindly in this video. In 1980, I took my boyfriend to my high school prom in San Jose, California . It was a national news event and it took a legal battle with the state of California and the ACLU to make it possible. To dance with my then boyfriend, Mike McNiel, we had to have pain clothes police surround the San Jose, Holiday Inn to protect us so we could have one single slow dance together. Needless to say I was scared half to death for my life as well as that of Mike. It is so wonderful to watch you two so comfortable in a public setting. Things have really gotten better here in the liberal parts of the USA. Cheers to you both in this month of pride. Warmest regards, Dean Yoder, Glen Cove, New York, USA

Was at Cherry Grove,NY Pride festival this past June. Cherry Grove was my refuge back in the dark ages. Now it's a celebration, Also was at Stonewall the 28th for World Pride; loved it. In the dark ages ,before the Stonewall riots, the police were our enemy. Now they are protecting all of the Pride events. Times have certainly changed. I'm jealous of the love you both have and am thankful you are sharing your memories.

Happy Pride to the best couple I know :-) A very awesome video, so nice to see the amount of support, things & times are changing, that's for sure. What I'm taking away from this video is the statement which Adam saw, "Never apologize for someone you love" oh my gosh! how deep & string is that! I can ONLY hope & pray that everyone will TRULY sit down & think about this! Secondly, my beliefs define me and I believe that just as a rose is a rose is a rose, so is love -- love is love is love. I HOPE that instead of fighting and hating, and killing, that the world will MAKE LOVE and STOP the HATRED, THE SEGREGATION. On the lighter side, loved when Bernardo says, "Excuse me!" when Adam mentions the 1 muscular, & shirtless guy who was on the YMCA float :-D and I LOVE seeing how Bernardo is SO COMFORTABLE in expressing his affection for you Adam. Whether it be a hug, or a pat or a smack or even a kiss -- sometimes even a deep kiss --- it all seems to flow straight from his core, without any effort and not for the camera. Adam, you are so lucky to have someone as Bernardo, whose love for you is so strong, and so intense and effortless. His love will make up for ALL the hardship and pain that you endured; It is and always will be your guiding light -- for life. NEVER lose it. Love you both and tons of hugs for you guys. Until the next video, now I'm going to go out and make some memories ---- as much as I can in a lockdown scenario ;-/ xoxo

No one should ever be denied love. This video will inspire many people to be who they are and find strength to do that! ❤️❤️X

Love the video and the so many messages of acceptance, unconditional love, and inclusion. Thank you for sharing yourselves and putting your lives out there. I have met so many young people and the community that is coming together in love during my pride lecture events and sharing from their hearts. It's great to be in a position of creating a lifelong impact and you two are on the road to that. I am so glad we have met and look forward when we can see each other again and visit. Lots of unconditional love and friendship from me.

What I Ioved from this parade is I didn't see any of the stereotype, or not recorded ( drags, feathers, shirtless guys). It was more family oriented. Greetings from above parallel 49.

A parade like this would make me feel more comfortable. Toronto's pride parade (and the subsequent festivities afterwards) seems to be nothing more than an excuse for excessive drinking, exhibitionism and debauchery.
@Stepsof2Foreigners5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Al. Yes, from what I remember in Orlando, it was more of a party. I mean, I walked behind the Pulse float in my underwear (face palm). Here in Portland, we really didn't see a lot of the stereotypes. To be honest here, no one cares. What we saw was the community coming together and celebrating a wonderful cause. We felt like we (LGBT) were in the minority.

This is why I dont take pride parades seriously. Theres always the stereotype which bugs the hell out of me. It would be a more positive thing if it stayed classy not trashy. Keep it a family fun event. No obscene groping, nudity, and outrageous amounts of alcohol and drunk people everywhere. And keep the politics out of it. We see it everywhere else.

People can drink at pride parades in big cities, here in chicago people can drink on the street. That is good to have a wholesome message, but I’m sure you guys agree, muscle shirtless guys are a lot of fun!

Hey Thomas, really? I didn't know in big cities you could drink. I can't remember if we could when I lived in Orlando. Yes, we love both type of parades but we had never been to a Pride like in Portland. There were no stereotypes here. Yes, the drag queens and electronic music makes it fun but we were surprised how much we enjoyed this one because of the support from the community as a whole. Make sense? It's hard to explain the support here in Portland. I know you travel a lot and I think you've mentioned you came here.
