Brilliant! Thanks for this. Love this show. The first four series were produced in Black and White, 5 & 6 produced in Colour but now only exists in Black and White. the last two series 7 (1972) & 8 (1974) were produced in Colour and still exists in Colour if you ever want to check out one of the Colour episodes? Personal favourites - Divided We Stand, Live Now P.A.Y.E Later, The Desperate Hours and Oh What. Beautiful Mourning.

Steptoe & Son were great. I watched it as a kid. However… this isn’t one of the best episodes. The later ones are better. These are my favourites: • The Desperate Hours (S6 ep2) • Come Dancing (S7 ep7) • Upstairs, Downstairs, Upstairs, Downstairs (S8 ep5) • Seance in a Wet Rag and Bone Yard (S8 ep5)

I've always found it odd when Americans describe a comedy show as 'stupid' as opposed to 'silly' or whatever. I would only describe a programme or movie as stupid if I didn't like it or wasn't enjoying it. It sounds insulting like it would be if you said it to a person. I'd use silly or daft. Different cultures I guess.

Great series Jay, keep up with these! Did you know that in real life the age difference between the 'son' and 'father' was only 9 years. EDIT: 13 years difference :)

Jay they ran for a number of years 1960s &1970s they had bad language for the day,they did two spin off films,ive got my favourite episodes but two that stand out are learning to dance & acting lessons plus my favourite with Leonard rossiter aka rigsby from rising damp he plays an escaped convict in a 1972 Christmas special please try &show that jay..

Please watch the 'Steptoe and Son' films!! There are two, 'Steptoe and Son' (1972) and 'Steptoe and Son Ride Again' (1973). They are both brilliant although the first one is the best. Im sure youll love them!
