Did you use the center speaker in the dash?

Yes< i am running it off the internal amp of the head unit as front and then the mains are run off the back through RCA. This way I can fade to balance. this will give a front stage as well as the mains. The key is leaving the head unit "flat" and making all the tonal adjustments through the EQ.

No need to break in sub. Just play it and don’t got full tilt for a few weeks. Do you have a vid about the speakers in kick panel

Exactly, as I mention in my video "subwoofer break in" you simply need to play it at lower volumes for a few hours. But in my case I am going to pound the heck out of the sub setting the max gain on the amp so I need to do it prior. I have an upcoming video where I am using a digital oscilloscope to set gain while looking at the sine wave before clipping. AS far as kick panels this was unfortunate as I lost the video (must have deleted it from camera ) but watch latest video called "interior installation 68 mustang" and 10 minutes into the video I have some video regarding kicks. basically I had cut a 6 inch hole in the kick plate and sealed it on the outside with some stainless steel dog water bowls .LOL. this gives the 6.5 speakers a place to go so they are flush with the kick panel. You can see in the video the location of that hole. Sorry I have no video on that, it was done way back before I started to really document the car. If you have any questions I am happy to help.

@@68mustangrestoration34 ouch. Yeah I figured you did some cutting. I think I will just do an aftermarket kick panel. The trick I’m using is neo mid speakers. Very small back but get super loud and sound very clear

@@theshark2804 good call with low profile Neo's. The only reason I cut mine was the car was totally ripped apart allowing me to easily modify the panels.

@@68mustangrestoration34 the car I’m working on is a 68 cougar for my wife. When I get it where it needs to be she will take over with the high dollar stuff like paint and daytons. I’m looking for a 67-68 mustang myself

@@theshark2804 I just subscribed and watched a few of your videos. Great work so far, glad you are doing this for her. As far as a Mustang I found mine in the US two years ago and have been working on it ever since as there was more rust than expected. I will continue to follow your journey , best of luck on the Cougar as well as a Mustang

Yes, Actually all full range speakers need a break in period. All the pieces have never moved together before , the spider and the foam surround will be stiff. If you go to full volume out of the box they will wear , but increasing volume through their range of motion they will "break in". I guarantee with proper break in your speakers will sound better.

does stick out don't it..LOL.. I have not yet decided to put on 14 or 15's so that is coming up. I have a set of 15 in torque thrusts OR 14 inch stamped steel (Orig) want car finished and then put one set on each side and stand back.
