Wow, I was just about to do what you said not to. Add new speakers to my vintage 68 mustang radio. Glad I watched!

You could get a redirad, which connects to the antenna port, and then it has a 3.5mm headphone jack to plug into stuff. It's about $20

Can you use aftermarket stereo speakers with a oem classic car radio?
@cookcars1
@cookcars1 5 жыл бұрын
That's a great alternative. I like the looks of my Ford AM radio in my '66 but it's not very useful since there is not much in terms of music on AM. What is a general cost for doing something l like that? Thanks!
@QualityClassics
@QualityClassics 5 жыл бұрын
Exactly! It's usually around $300 - $500 depending on the options you select.

My 68 f250 ran me just under 800 with dash speaker. But that was with the full conversation with HD.

I have a 1976 Pontiac what an aftermarket kraco radio I replaced it with another aftermarket Krakow radio and I use the 1:00 amp fuse with blue the other radio had a 3 amp fuse I was told to try a 5 amp which did work on a test bench what is the proper fuse to use for a 1976 Pontiac radio system

I like the idea of keeping the look of the factory radio but i can't justify spending $500 on it when i could get a new radio for less than $100 that would work just as good.

I have a 1967 Mustang AM radio I'd like to upgrade like the one you did in the video. Would you do that for mine? I'm looking for someone to do it and yours is the first video/ad(?) I've seen.

Besides radios do you know of any company I can send my gauges to get them upgraded ?
@QualityClassics
@QualityClassics Ай бұрын
I would highly recommend going with the Dakota Digital RTX gauges. They're amazing, we've been using them a lot! I'm going to be doing a video on them soon. It depends on what car you have though.

@ I have a 51’ Mercury and wanted to start using my original gauges but yea I’ll look into maybe swapping the whole dash for one of those Dakota Digitals

Yes, the radio with these improvements will sound better than the factory radio from 55 plus years ago. No, it won’t sound like the stereo in your modern car! Two small speakers occupying the space of one larger “oval” speaker in the middle of the dash (even if you have another set in the middle of the rear window package tray) will not give you any real stereo separation. It will sound better than the original, give you greater option of what you want to hear, and will very likely be enough of an improvement for the way most people use and enjoy their old cars. Although it may seem obvious to some but others may need to be reminded to adjust their expectations if they are looking for the modern, full stereo sound that most new cars or professional level custom sound systems will provide; you will need to look further and spend more.

Interesting. A shame it doesn’t actually demonstrate how to install a classic car radio i.e. how to connect to power supply, to speakers etc.

I would either go with a pop out double din screen. Or look at products like custom auto sound and find something close

No, it's not that expensive. Usually more around $350 - $400. I'm sure there are tutorials somewhere if that's what you're looking for.
