Best video ever on the explanation of microscopes. Just curious, what magnification power would be needed to see a coronavirus cell in a blood sample?

This is a very good question, and as you might expect, one we’ve been receiving more and more recently. Viruses are actually too small to be seen with an optical microscope; they are only visible using an electron microscope. Also, it’s important to remember that even when they are seen through an electron microscope, they are not definitively identified using it, In the case of the SARS-Cov-2 virus, identification is made by reading the viruses’ genetic messages using a technique called Real-time polymerase chain reaction, often shortened to Real-Time RT-PCR.
