STEREOLAB ARE SWITCHED ON

Stereolab present an anthology boxset that compiles all five volumes of the Switched On series: 94 non-album tracks and sought after deep cuts by the groop. Includes the original Switched On compilation LP released in 1992, 1995's Refried Ectoplasm [Switched On Volume 2], 1998’s Aluminum Tunes [Switched On Volume 3], 2021’s Electrically Possessed [Switched On Volume 4], and 2022’s Pulse Of The Early Brain [Switched On Volume 5]. All the tracks have been remastered from the original tapes in recent years, personally overseen by Tim Gane of the band at Calyx in Berlin. 8 disks in individual card wallets, with a 12 page booklet, and 5 x 120x120 mm stickers of the Switched On album covers, housed in a sturdy clamshell outer box with foil block print.
Alongside the boxset, there is also a 15 track introduction to the Switched On series, taking 3 tracks from each volume, housed in a simple card wallet with bespoke artwork.
Individual vinyl editions of each Switched On album are also still available.

There’s no bitrate/quality issues. If you choose to *import the cds as lossy files* then sure you can have 320 or lower quality. Playing the disc itself on proper gear is an audiophile experience. Same really if you DO import files, just keep them as wav, or create flac, or apple lossless etc.)

@@duhluth no problem 😉 I used to encode to LAME mp3 many years ago but have have gone back and encoded 100s of cds as lossless m4a / wav. Ah Napster era - brings back memories but tbh I mostly stuck to blogs, Usenet, and torrents for proper HQ downloads. -cheers
