Cool vid! I like that they featured two people from Trinidad, one that is of Indian descent and another that is of African descent. I'm Trinidadian so that is typical where we live but we don't say 'I'm black or I'm Indian' we collectively say 'I'm Trinidadian'. Alot of us are mixed with both Indian and Black like Nicki Minaj or Vashtie for instance, we call people like them 'dougla' which is the term for someone who is mixed with black and Indian.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! When I moved here from Trinidad I was so confused when people were like "I'm half Jamaican and Half Bajan". I was like what does that even mean? How are you even half a nationality? I even heard a girl say she's half black half Jamaican. I told her you do know majority of Jamaicans are black right? And she was like no Jamaican is a race. I couldn't even speak after that.

I live in a large military town so you have a bunch of people from everywhere. You have a bunch of mixed people too. I'm half German (white) and half African American. A lot of people think I'm Hispanic, Native American (I really don't know why),or even Italian. I doesn't upset me or anything when someone asks what I am because when you're mixed, you're race is a bit ambiguous and even I have thought a mixed person was some other race before.

We definitely live in a different society than we did 30 years ago. I'm a mixed person (Creole- Black and white basically) and I get all types of comparisons to mexican, belizean, samoan, etc. I think it's beautiful to live in a melting pot of sorts.
