That's a very nice-sounding mic and seems to be well-built and high-quality!!! I don't need another voiceover mic but I may have to buy this one! That track sounds great!!!

Jorge Hernandez Thank you so much! As artists we always have that sense of crippling self doubt. It made my day just knowing that you enjoyed the video!

how to reduce diaphragm on sterling microphone st155?

Would I need a preamp going from this to a Scarlett 2i2?
@PhillyWatts4 жыл бұрын
No, the Focusrite 2i2 has its own preamp built in. Some people use a separate preamp to add a different color, but you don't need it at all.

Do you have an audio interface? If so, plug it in using an xlr cable and make sure to turn on phantom power.

Does yours have lots of sibilance how do you get around that? I have one but it seems to cut my head off when I say s words.
@PhillyWatts6 жыл бұрын
Tremaine Brown To be honest, mine sound very natural to my ears. I use a de-esser to tame some of the sibilance. Have you tried that yet?
@babysitting5916 жыл бұрын
Yes and that does work. I appreciate the response. I just don't really like using a de-esser and I understand that Chinese made products tend to have a more detailed high end eq wise. I was just wondering if you had a technique or was it my interface. Although I've tested it on a mac and windows computer and two different interfaces I had bought one and it did have a defect that I purchased from guitar center. I had to travel 8 hrs to exchange it and I'm just trying to make sure I didn't run into the same thing.

Philly Watts typically does your require a lot of gain input? Or do you have a separate preamp for example I have the art tube mp the input works fine when I use extra gain although the sibilance is still sharp. Perhaps my ears just have to adjust to these mics.
@PhillyWatts6 жыл бұрын
Tremaine Brown Honestly, the clarity I'm getting out of mine is outstanding, with not too much sibilance. Obviously, you're using phantom power and have tried multiple interfaces so that may not be the problem. What microphone were you using before? Maybe you're not used to it like you said.
@PhillyWatts6 жыл бұрын
Tremaine Brown Also, are you using the high pass filter on the mic? That could cause it to sound like extra highs are coming through. Besides that, a low pass filter around 18-20 kz afterwards in your DAW can help.
