So much fun, Connor did a great job and it was brilliant seeing the interaction and watching these guys laugh with and at each other. It’s interesting that Kyle said he’d be an awful manager cuz he looks the part so much more than Raheem….only because Sterling still looks like he’s still 20 and Walker has a more intimidating presence. lol. I think stuff like this is more important than ever. Week in week out we get pundits who to and fro with their opinions when they haven’t spent time with these players, or seen them train, nor understand their personalities and coping mechanisms. Managers when asked also don’t like to single players out. When you are equal as a player and spend hundreds of hours a month on and off the pitch, this is where we need to get our deeper understanding on players.

The team will benefit more from someone that contributes a lot off the pitch by just bringing the team together rather than wasting it on the "3rd best player in x position." Yeh it was a silly question, it should have been "who is the Greatest English Midfielder over the duration of your playing career". Because you cant really answer that question without having have watched players of previous generations. Charlton, Robson, Hoddle from my understanding of how good they were considered could be in for a shout. Being 40 I have vague memories of Robson, not enough to have a good opinion on him but can only go off what Ive seen. In the time ive been watching footy for me its Gerrard - there was nothing that Scholes could do that Gerrard couldn't do to roughly the same standard. Scholes had a slightly better short passing range but the difference was minimal. Long range passing and shooting easily on par with each other. On the other hand Gerrard could do things Scholes couldn't like Tackle properly, was a much better athlete - he could run past people with the ball, he was much stronger and very fast once he got into his stride. For me Frank was a better goalscorer than both Gerrard and Scholes and his footballing intelligence was unbelievable but again he lacked the balance to his game to defend as well as he attacked, and really lacked athleticism ( not stamina, he could run for days ) but he couldn't go past people with the ball, nowhere near as strong as other midfielders like Gerrard, Vieira, Essien, Keane and really lacked speed.

I definitely see one of the major reasons why Conor Coady regularly makes England squads by watching this vid, personality like him is a must have in situations like this 😂😂

Surely Bobby Charlton, WC winner and 49 goals, is miles ahead of any other England midfielder?

Yeah but I think it’s fair enough that they didn’t discuss him, as neither of them are old enough to have seen Bobby Charlton play

@@mahirhussain4890 they didn't choose the question. But they wouldn't have much to say about a player they never watched. And it was best English midfielder in general not best player for England. In that case firstly you can't compare across eras and secondly all 3 of Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes are in the argument. So it's perfectly acceptable for them to choose one of the players they actually watched.
