I recommend a clip from december 9th 1980. It was when Howard worked in Detroit before he was the "shock jock". It was the morning after john lennon was killed and you can just hear how sad Howard was. Its like listening to another person.
you missed the best years of Stern. as u can hear on this segment a big part of his act was him vs. the boss...something every working man could identify with

I think since he got on Satellite Radio he has "won" & forgotten what brought him to the dance. So now on his high & mighty chair he has cooled it down. Howard Stern is definitely his own worst nightmare in the year 2023.
@edsimolin5383 Жыл бұрын
You got that right. He’s no longer edgy, relevant, funny or interesting. Everything that a die hard fan loved about him during his golden era, is now gone. We loved that he was politically incorrect and was an anti Hollywood establishment personality. Now he’s become everything that he goofed on and mocked. Just not the same show. He may have evolved in his personal life, but the show has suffered mightily. I tried to listen a few times and it is unlistenable. I have cancelled my subscription to Sirius

That's what competition and "fighting" for your job and against other people made Howard, Howard Stern the best on radio! After he got on Satellite, he left his competition and those screwing with his work. He has no real reason to go out of his way to keep listeners and be "edgy" or entertaining! Now I'm a huge HS fan, but even I noticed that the last 10 years the show has been on autopilot and not as good as it once was. And I've been listening since the early 80's.

It does make it a bit confusing. From what I read, they did that because the 2 management guys (Vin and Kenny from what I remember) in the movie are a composite of Kevin Matheny (Pig Virus).
