Thanks so much. I am watching to understand more about my teenage son's pectus excavatum. His is low in the thoracic cavity, so I'm thinking in the xiphoid process. He has chest/rib pain and autonomic dysfunction as well as intermittent swallowing problems and unpredictable painful / debilitating spasms (presumably) in his diaphragm. We're working with a thoracic surgeon but presently being delayed from the planned Nuss correction by insurance company.

Manubrio-sternal joint is a type of which join?
@SamWebster4 жыл бұрын
It's a secondary cartilaginous joint (a symphysis) like many other midline joints. There is a fibrocartilaginous disc in there, or there was, as it also tends to ossify or thin with age. Probably: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30539209

Is it normal to feel the xiphoid process with your finger? Mine feels like a lump. Is that normal?

Always interesting... I can't seem to find the video on Superficial muscles of the back (Trapezius, etc.) You mentioned it in another video a couple of years ago.
@SamWebster4 жыл бұрын
It's probably this one, as the superficial muscles of the back are mainly involved in moving the upper limb: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4XGlWqPmtF2oKs
