Thanks for the test. An amp like this may put out some substantial numbers but will never put out the dynamics simply due to lack of capacitance. To use an example, it's like a head unit that makes 25w rms per channel (optimistic) vs. an external 25x4 amp. The external amp will have substantially better volume, dynamics and depth due to so much more power supply headroom (despite same rms power) where in the real world you are dealing with harmonics, rather than reproducing a single frequency.
@casey3603603 жыл бұрын
Good luck explaining this to people though. I've even pulled a head unit and a 4 channel apart to show people the difference, head unit didn't have any capacitors on the output circuit, they just scratched their head and still told me I was wrong.

4:00 Ace ace ace! Been looking for a video coving this for ages! And came across one by Jacob Virol. I’m asking you as you have an amp dyno and could see if my thinking is correct. Ok….here is my question: If you have 4x50w amp and you only use 2 of the 4 channels, does this mean you have slightly more power on the used channels given the decreased stress on the power supply?? The reason I ask is, in AV, they rate the multichannel amps with only 2 channels driven because when all channels are driven the output of each is significantly reduced. So, by contrast, if you only used 2 of 4 channels on a multi channel amp, do you get a bit more power from the amp?? This is not a question about bridging the amp, just about leaving 2 channels unconnected like when using an AV amp in stereo. If you were to test a 4 channel amp but *without* the dummy loads on the 2 untested channels, would the output for the used channels increase?
@wal3 жыл бұрын
Yes I believe this is true as it would be less stress/load on the power supply

I've just recently heard of these. While I have no intention of using one to power a subwoofer, I wonder how it would sound powering a pair of 4ohm 6x9 speakers rated at 90W RMS. The compact size has me very curious, as it would leave plenty or room for airflow and heat dissipation for the sake of longevity.

Not for nothing, but being that this amp is labeled backwards for bridged mode compared to most amps, makes it a bit confusing. Lol. I would love to see what something like an old cc-d1200 could lay down.
@alexvds14 жыл бұрын
I've already used this amplifier, the frequency cut for subwoofer mode has a gain of 15 db at 45 Hz, it creates an absurd bass latency for the rest of the frequencies. I never use it for a subwoofer ever again, in Brazil Soundigital is a brand of excellence and Taramps right behind in terms of quality, Stetsom is known for making affordable products with lower quality.
