I have a question: In the movie Cool Hand Luke, can anyone tell me what hat Morgan Woodward wore in his role of Boss Godfrey, otherwise known as ""The Man with No Eyes"? The crown has a simple center crease, and the brim turns up around the edge like a Homberg. I'd give a shiny new dime to know the answer to that. I've always loved that hat.

My Stetson in from late 70’s ( Marlboro man) ,, and later Urban cowboy movie took off.. it so did the style of the hat. Does anybody know the Marlboro style.. any info is greatly appreciated….

Why does the German Stetson shop not have a single iconic western style?

@@Tyborz that isn't really an answer to my question. The hats that are sold under the Stetson label in Germany are genuinely not Stetson hats, but weird cowboy felt copies. I am asking how there is not a single Stetson hat in Stetson quality in the German shop.

It’s a different market. It’s much more expensive to get USA made hats to Europe. The higher priced Europe Stetsons are not weird copies, but still American made, just wool felt. Cheaper hair felt mixes are totally not rain proof. When felt gets wet, and maybe even hot, it loses its shape. Because that’s how they are shape initially.

I bought a skyline silverbelly but it had too much of a pink tone to it so I took it back and luckily they traded it back. Was still in box plastic and foam ring

Purchased the skyline Stetson pretty disappointed I think the brims are too limp I own a number of Akubra hats at least the brims are fairly stiff so when you do a bit of reshaping it stays there, I reckon the Stetson ‘s are fairly flimsy..

If you're disappointed with how limp it is and haven't thrown it away yet, consider buying Gulf wax and applying it to the hat. That's what people over here in Washington do when it's about time to throw it out. Usually we use the hats as a working hat afterwards.

Mine is pretty stiff. Had mine for over 10yr holds up great. Been in heavy rain, mud, and stomped on by bulls. Reblocked and shaped ready to go

When you go back in the 80s, 70s and 60s you can find very different high quality Stetson fur felt cowboy hats with tall crowns, with low crowns, rca creases, cattleman creases, diamant creases, telescope creases, tall crown cattleman creases with dents in front and back and other special models. Now you can get a 6x furfelt, a 20 x premium, a 100x etc. only in the same style. Low cattleman crowns and wide brims... it's a little bit boring...

Sorry, but I can't see a real difference between the skyline and the jbs herritage. Both have a 4 5/8 crown and a 4 brim. The only real difference must be the buckle set!

The Heritage has a 4 5/8 brim and the Skyline has a 4 1/2 bring, not much of a difference but a slight difference.
