Funny story, a few days ago I asked a nun what must I do to be saved and get to heaven just to see her answer. She said all I have to do is be good, and do good works. I said oh really, what if I'm a muslim and dont believe in Jesus can I still go to heaven. She said yes. I quickly asked the Holy Spirit in my mind what I should respond to her. So I revealed to her that I was actually a former catholic and why i left. I mentioned John 14:6 to her, that jesus is the way the truth and the life, and is the only way to heaven. I also told her the bible says, he who hath the son hath life he who hath not the son hath not life. She heard what I said but ignored it, and said "it's not about Jesus". We talked more and ended on a good note, but my point was to show her how far removed catholics have become from the simple gospel. ITS ALL ABOUT JESUS! Jesus died for our sins so that we can go to heaven. We have to believe on him. Praise the Lord

I appreciate your boldness with that nun. I pray that her eyes be opened to the truth of the Good News of Jesus Christ!! Wasn’t there a Catholic bible version in the 70’s called “The Good News”? I don’t know how she missed the Gospel, but she did. There is still hope for her! I tell you, the teaching that Sr. Miriam James gives is so different from the Catholic teachings I grew up with. It is refreshing to hear someone dedicated to Christ and speak the Truth as well!

And what if this story is not true? What if you made it up in an effort to make a passive aggressive point? You'd be lying (ie committing sin). Where would your salvation be then? Indeed there is no salvation apart from the sanctifying grace of Jesus Christ through faith (Eph 2:8-9) but your fictitious nun is right that doing good is certainly a part (James 2), as is works (phil 2:12). There is no greater fountain of the Grace of Jesus Christ than The Church. I pray you come home to salvation as He planned it, not as man did.
