Fair point but I'm not sure who really gets to define whats decent and what's "not". Usually just whomever the ruling class represents at any given time at their own discretion, doesn't matter if they lean right or left. Its usually who has the ultimate last say in discourse and rhetoric at that given point in time. Its a completely relative matter and it might not be what the general consensus is within the lower ranks of society, but only who holds the power.

He's not defending PC. He's explaining how people now on the right are using it as an excuse to be an @sshole to people. He was very clear about that.

@@MifuneKZbin but from his own bias and presumption though. I think he's a brilliant producer, for the most part, but I mean once you pick a side and consider yourself either right or left you've pretty much given into being biased in how you look at everything.

@@stinghouseproductions8502 sure, but his point is very clear, if you agree or not. Also he's not a producer. He's a recording engineer. The band are left to produce their own record in the studio. He offers technical advice and solutions, but very rarely will he give an opinion on the music the band are playing and how to play it.

@@MifuneKZbin Additionally Stinghouseproductions premise, that there are people who are immune to 'bias and presumption', who are 'objective', who could only cave to 'bias' by 'picking a side', is a delusion. Everyone has bias, 'picking a side' is an active reaction to recognising one's biases. Centrists tend to present bias toward the status quo, broadly speaking.

Albini here sounded really detached from reality, it's pretty clear how current left inherited all the worst right wing censorship tactics from the Reagan era. Every critique is labeled as something-phobia, basically demolishing any form of a more nuanced conversation. Bill Hicks would be alt right nowadays, which is pretty funny. As a lefties myself this is the lowest point in history of my political party. Btw, rip Steve Albini.

It's madness! On one hand I hate seeing anyone suffer on any level, but on the other I hate seeing people force their lives or preferences onto the rest of the world... this place is truly fucked!
