When I was 16 years old, way before tv recording was available, me and my brother would wait at the house on Friday evenings for this music video to come on. We would watch it and go out for the evening...nothing ever bad, just country boy fun...riding dirt roads..hanging out with friends..drinking cold beers! I served in the Marine Corps from 07’ to 12’..when times got really bad I always went to this song and my older brother for comfort! Great song, nothing matters more than family! Friends come and go but my brother has always been there for me when I needed him! Semper Fi!

I remember when he used to play in Columbia, MO then stop at the Holiday Inn Airport in St. Louis to stay the night with his band. I worked there at the time and they were always so nice to me. I still have the CD and letter of thanks that he left 15 years ago. He deserves much more recognition!

My mom had this cd when it came out, blasted it every damn day for probably 90 days straight. As much as it drove me crazy because I was a teenager into hip hop and rock, I love every song to this day. He played in my town of Wilkes barre PA at the woodlands probably over ten years ago. I regret not taking my mom, but we didn't know he was there. Idk if she liked his music, or if she just thought he was hot. Or both....

This song released shortly after my baby brother was killed in a freak auto accident. We didn't have the privilege of growing up together and we were both young adults enjoying our new relationship and just like that, he was gone. I loved a state away, and at that time, we didn't have cell phones. The police in my town told everyone they didn't know where we were, so I found out about him passing almost a month later. I still haven't forgiven myself. I miss you so so much, Little Joe.

" Most of us keep waiting till our time here is over. Why? Becuase it matters.....We focus so much on what we're waiting for that, we miss or forget to appreciate what we got. Truth is there will always be something we need or want. Something we feel we have to have. Yearning for something missing. We could wonder how long its gonna take or how much must one endure. Or we could wonder, are we just wasting our lives? Waitin on Joe." How true is that.Only Morgan Freeman could tell it like it is!

For all those wondering why Steve didn't stick around country - he did, gave his best. Too bad he was on Mercury at the time this and Monday came out - they put everything they had into Shania. He started his own label and released some great music. Despite the call from the people that they wanted to hear it (Sunshine, especially) money gets your music heard. My own station ignored the countless calls by listeners during request shows -wouldn't play it. Such a shame.
