I just escaped a very cruel and abusive husband. He laughed at me often. What he did devastated me. I've learned since then that I don't need to accept who I was in his eyes because I've been redeemed and made worthy in my Father's eyes. My husband said I was unworthy, nothing special, not good enough. God says I am His workmanship, I have been established, anointed & sealed, I am victorious, I am chosen, set apart & dearly loved & I am fearfully & wonderfully made ❤️ My Father in heaven loves me eternally and thats the only thing that matters now as I heal from the pain.

I got out of a very abusive marriage after 4 years of his verbal, emotional and physical abuse. It took me years to realize that I was worthy of much better in a relationship and now I have it. Thank God! I was almost thinking everyone lived like that. I was really traumatized. He has passed on now but every woman he dated or married was also mistreated by him. I think he belonged in a mental institution.

one of my first country songs as a kid. it hit me real hard whenever i listened to it due to the abuse and bullying i suffered at school. i'm autistic, epileptic, have ADHD, and learning problems and they went at me like sharks in a feeding frenzy. i suffered like that until, finally, in Grade 10 i made my first true friends after moving to a new school. we've gone our seperate ways now, but i'll still always be thankful for them for accepting me. if that didn't happen, i may not be in such a good a position that i am today.

I've always cried when I hear this song and even more when I watch the video, I hate bullies. I suggested to someone years ago that this song be played on the loud speaker at the beginning of every school year, and maybe a couple more times a year, at every school, starting in kindergarten all the way through high school. And now that I think about it, we should add back the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord's Prayer. You never know what someone else is going through.

I’m 36 years old and this song has always meant a lot to me growing up I can’t count how many times I cried myself to sleep because I was always bullied. Still to this day people like to give me looks and whisper things about me. Sometimes I really just want to knock them clean out but what does that solve.

I still cry myself to sleep too. Was picked on because I was born different. Couldn't walk like everyone else and had problems learning. One of the worst times that I remember I was in 5th grade my TEACHER called me up in front of the entire class and told them that I was only able to name 10 states. I was ten and wasn't good with reading yet. What he did was wrong because they now had even more to make fun of me about. A few months later my parents were tired of seeing me come home in tears and pulled me out

oh yeah I know how that goes sometimes I've been at the gym I walk in everyone gets quiet it seems like everyone's minding their business and working out but all the sudden the voices go down they're talking low whispering and I hear a laugh every now and then are they talking about me? sometimes I wonder . now keep in mind these were guys powerlifting and I come in and I'm only bench pressing 15 lb I know they're looking my way and I know they're talking about me but I don't care. they don't know me they don't know who I am all they can do is speculate.

This song reminds me how kids treated me when I was in high-school after an accident happened to me when I was hit bye a car and in a coma then I woke up from my coma and all of the relearning that I had to do on everything just like being a child all over again and the physical therapy that I went through to help me learn how to walk and use my hands again. Being picked on hurt so much back then and if the kids only knew what they were doing to me. I am very strong now and with the grace of God I never let anything or anyone hurt me anymore. We are all God's children and we are all the same. This song is special telling us we should all be treated the same.

I'm female, and by the time I was 14, I was 6' and 1/2" tall, I weighed 300 pounds, I could bench press 350 pounds with no problem, I was raised around all boys, so let me tell you, I took Tomboy to a whole new level ... when I was in 2nd grade, there was this bully that made this girl cry. Her story was that when she 2, her mother and her, were hit by a train, her mother was killed, and she was left with a lot on scares, a leg that didn't bend so well, and several other problems, both mental & physical ... there was this boy that thought making fun of her and making her cry was cool & funny ... everybody was standing around just watching, even the teachers, doing nothing, I walked over to him, and told him to stop it, he said shut up fatty, I don't have to ... I beat the dog shit out of him, before the teachers could get me off him. I declared war that day, I would not be bullied, and I would not stand around and let it happen to anyone else either...I was the bullies, bully. You get 1 verbal warning to stop and if you didn't heed it, well then you got your ass whipped. I lost count a long time ago, how many fights I've been in. I still live in the same town, I was born in, I'm 56 years old, and to this day, I'm still called The Enforcer. Now I didn't change the world, not even close, but every person that was scared, bullied, or felt like an outsider, etc , knew they had at least 1person to help them. The only way to stop it, is to confront it, and make the bully, understand that they don't get to act like that, without consequences. Fighting may not be the answer, but talking didn't do any good ... so I did what needed doing.

That's when you teach your kids self-defense so they can smack someone in the head 😉I don't condone violence, but i think people reaches a point, where it is okay, justifiable, because no one should take s**t, just because someone feels like they're "better", then it's fine by me :) And besides, kids beating each other up at that age, typically aren't all that violent, so, it's okay in my book to set a little justice like that 🙂

I am, and always will. Dec 26, 2024. I buried my son, Cody, almost 12 years ago. He was 1 month away from 24 years old. Cody was born with a cleft lip and palette, but he could speak clearly by the age of 1 year. He spoke so clearly that strangers could understand him at 1 year old. You normally can't understand a three year old unless you spend a lot of time around them. If you didn't see the scar, you would have never known. His doctors were amazed. He was so smart and so talented. At 4 years, he could draw anything and draw it well. He never knew that he was different from others, but then he started school. It was a nightmare for both of us. Kids are vicious. They laughed, they insulted, they even assaulted. No matter what he endured, he stood stoic and fearless. The first time I ever saw him react to the way he was treated by his classmates was the first time that he heard this song.😢 It broke my heart. That is a memory that I will never forget. ❤💔

Don't try to fit in, I stopped doing that a long time ago and I'm much happier. It'd be a pretty boring world is everyone was the same. You be the best you that you can be.

First heard this song through the cover with Mark and Home Free. Such a beautiful and powerful song where you need to pay attention to the lyrics to understand the message.

This song reminds me of my school days when I was bullied...crying now, since it is reminding me to never bully anyone in return cause then I would become those who bullied me. Never bully people, never do that! Cause one day, you will be bullied in return, then you will know how it feels to be the person you bullied...and those are my words of wisdom for today...

This song brings tears to my eyes. My son is 7yrs old and he has the best smile and laugh. He is so sweet. He has special needs and I've heard so much hate towards him in only 7yrs that I thought I would never hear. I've seen so many laugh at him and doctors not willing to help. I fight for him every day I am his voice

I used to be sort of a bully back in Jr. High. Then one day when i was riding home with my dad this song came on. It practically put me into tears and made me realize needed to change and needed a new outlook in life. That next day I went and apologized face to face with every person I have ever bullied and asked for there forgiveness. Two of those people became my best friends/brothers still to this day. I owe a lot to Mark and this song.

this song hits home for a lot of people. you just never know what people go through on a daily basis. WE ARE THE SAME. we are all equal and deserve the same treatment, because treating people badly could end bad for someone and result in someone losing there life.

This song has always resonated with me deep in my soul. I'm a single teenage mother trying to overcome her past line hit me tonight. Been there, done that in my late teens. I was the one who others got their pleasure from my pain. Still trying to get past it and I'm in my mid 30s. Just about every line I can check one of the ones being laughed at, made fun of, never being good enough. School k-12 was hell for me
