Can’t remember what place but in NYC and this must have been 1998 there was an autograph signing for X-PAC and Steve Blackman. Last minute something came up where Steve couldn’t be there so they gave us Goldust instead with X-PAC. Most of the crowd and myself was cool with it because Goldust was a more interesting wrestler but I could remember just one karate kid who was dressed up in martial arts gear was crying when he heard the news

I used to wrestle on the Indy circuit and went to Cleveland one night to wrestle and ended up getting a migraine headache and just worked security. I met Harley Race and was cheesing like a little kid..Harley was a very cool guy and to listen to his storys was the coolest thing ever..I met Buff Bagwell and he took a pic with me and asked me to hangout with him and we became friends , Buff is a super cool guy. But the one asshole I met and ended up cussing out and telling off was Raven. He acted like he was to good to take pics and just had a very shitty attitude towards the indys guys..I ended up telling him to take his pics and shove em up his ass that night..

@@myname1989 exactly. You see a post about any pro wrestler and there’s always “he’s so underrated” comment. I can’t actually think of anyone who’s underrated. Steve Blackman is one of my all time favorite WWF stars. He was legitimately tough/skilled, really jacked/lean/fit, and he was unintentionally funny as hell. His lack of "personality" is actually what gave him more charisma and made him entertaining. It's a shame that we never got a tag team with Blackman and Lance Storm. Both would play into, "If I could be serious for a minute" since they're both always serious. 😂

It makes no sense because Vince always liked taking credit for building new stars and there you had a new star in Bart and he could've worked a program with Austin and they could've put Shane with Bart to help get him over and build him up as the new baddest man on the planet. They dropped the ball with that one just for typical pettiness from the bs politics in wrestling.

@lookitskazzy I've never seen any interview where anyone suggested that, Williams was who they wanted to win. Iv never heard anything about rigging. It shows how stupid the whole idea was.
@polsdofer
@polsdofer 8 ай бұрын
@johnm3907 it wasn't rigged. Vince thought for sure Steve Williams was going to win. Bart Gunn ended up winning and got punished for winning. Also Russo came up with the idea so JBL would get knocked out.

Interesting. So steves a legend in his own time. So it appears. Yet , as far as i can see? His competing in pro avenues is limited. Did steve ever face beock lesnar one on one.? Or meim one on one? Men who clearly have reputations that are just as good if not better then steve in professional fighting competitions? No. Steve never faced men who probably would have defeated him one on one. As most people would say that good as he was in physical combat skills🤪? Lesnar and haku still probably would have defeated steve. As they were just simply a tad better in physical skills competitions: I would have been curious though to see if steve had the courage to mock brock or haku the way he mocked big show: And big van vader. At various conjectures in time in his pro wrestling career. Big van vader and big show were never truly trained fichting machines. Haku and brock clearly are though. Interesting how it appears steve blackman went out of his way to avoid ever facing those two formidable fighters one on one. I personally think both brock and hsku wouldhave destroyed steve in a real fight. And Probably knocked him out. Actually.

As much as Russo annoys me, I actually thought the "Brawl for All" was great. Not sure why it's considered such a disaster. The point of Pro Wrestling is selling tickets/PPV sales....it did that.

It wasn’t good for business. Multiple guys got hurt. Dr Death was recently signed and it killed his run before it even began. It also killed any momentum Bart would have had because he got KO’d. Not one WWE guy came out looking better afterwards. That means it’s a failure. It didn’t even show us who was good at fighting because the rules were so stupid. Having to get off a dude immediately after taking him down? What’s even the point? Better to just make it a kickboxing match.
@brycemcneil4404
@brycemcneil4404 8 ай бұрын
No it didn't. It wasn't on PPV, for one. Second of all, the only person that got over was Bart and they immediately killed that by doing nothing with him in the ensuing months. Third, any tickets sold to the events where BfiA happened would have sold regardless because the WWF was ascendant. Fourth and finally, the ratings weren't good for BfiA at any point, and on some nights Nitro benefitted (this was when it was still a ratings war).

@Boygonebad 8 ай бұрын
Because he had no plans after it not to mention everyone got hurt and they kept changing the rules. Bart won and got over then Russo took him off tv because “he didn’t know what to do with him” then he brings him back 7 months later and jobs him out to bob Holly (the same Holly we saw Bart beat the f up in BFA) then puts him in a boxing match with Butterbean. Russo is a hack clown. It would have been better to just have Bart go on a dominant streak after winning BFA. Then have Dr Death (not in a stupid kabuki mask) return and attack him then just have those to WRESTLE at WM15. Simple booking101. It would’ve been better too.

the Brawl for All was retarded because it was real fighting with constantly changing rules, and the audience was conditioned to think what was happening in the ring was sorta not real. I was remember watching it live, and seeing the confused look on the audience.
