It's actually implied in the anime too. Look at the translation for the lyrics of the song that plays while Spike is thinking about Julia and then attacking the syndicate. It's about how he will love her forever and be with her in the afterlife. Then after he kills Vicious he sees her in his eye that sees the present and is engulfed in a heavenly white light. The fact that spike and Julia actually ended up together in some way is so amazing lol. I hope these two know what they did for anime fans in and for anime in general. The medium wouldn’t be nearly what it is today without that American broadcast back in the early 2000’s and how it showed an entire generation just how amazing anime could be as an art form . That American dollar has serious impact and they def got lots and lots of Americans into more heavy anime genres
