Steve Burton aka Cloud Strife is irreplaceable just like Robert Downey Jr. is irreplaceable as Tony Stark, Johnny Depp is irreplaceable as Captain Jack Sparrow, and Hugh Jackman is irreplaceable as Wolverine. On that note, nobody on the legacy of the FF7 should've been left out ever since the FF7R.

@@R0B5e55or001 I'm not gonna say no one in the remake did a good job. But the guy doing remakes Reno, Zack and Sephiroth are a joke compared to the the originals. Cloud's new voice is solid. But he is still copying Burton's way of doing it. Just with more sarcasm.

While the unnecessary recasting voices were okay, not that they're the ones who brought the FF7 characters, but nobody beats the originals. And nobody in this industry should ever be fired from voicing their characters over a stupid corporation. Only reasons to recast the original VAs are only unless they die, retired, have conflicted schedule, have medical emergency, or because of committed sexual crimes but the thing is it's no coincidence that the whole original FF7 voice cast were all replaced. I knew this was all just a marketing purpose, which is wrong.

Uh, I don't wanna shake up your world too much, but you know hardcore FF7 fans existed before Cloud even had a voice actor, right? I like him, but to say people aren't true FF7 fans because they don't unquestioningly adore a guy who voiced a single character many years later is pretty questionable and ridiculous. Besides, Advent Children and Cloud's appearances in Kingdom Hearts aren't even really true FF7 content, which is all he really voiced before the remake, so what are you on about?

Nobody is hating Steve Burton when he was Cloud, he fit the character right and I'll be happy to say that I grew up with Steve voicing Cloud Strife. Cody Christian has been knocking it out of the park as Cloud, did a great job in Remake and with the little bit he did in Crisis Core Reunion.

Yes, you can like the newbies, not that it means it feels the same without the original voices, but it doesn't mean you can just turn your back on the original VAs like that. Just because everyone can like the new voices for the Super Mario Bros, but it doesn't mean they can stop loving nor preferring Charles Martinet as the original voice of Mario, and even when Kevin Conroy is now gone, it never stops everyone from preferring his original Batman voice even if they're about to find new voices for Batman. The only reasons VAs don't return are ONLY unless: 1. Died 2. Chose not to return 3. Had a medical emergency 4. Conflicted acting schedule 5. Committed sexual crimes The thing is for the FF7 is that they recasted the entire Compilation voice cast to be part of FF7R and CCFF7R without even any of those reasons. It can't be a coincidence. It only turns out it was all a corporation and marketing purpose to lure the new fans into the lowly profit network shows like All American, Supergirl, and Fairly Odder shows.

You know guys i will never forget steve,, in ff7 a.c the movie is full of emotions, it make me feel like could is a real character, steve was, there is no word can explain how i feel, wish they make him complete and make cloud's sound in ff7 remake, he still has his great young sound, cody not bad but dunno i feel like still cant accept it :/ some times i watch general hospital series ( steve's scene) in youtube,only i see is cloud and imagine it😂

necro post : the most heart breaking thing i can say, is that on his official twitter in 2015, square told him he'd be reprising the role, and he commented about being truly honored by it ... and then they fired him, (and the entire english cast) - - - it sux, because i've heard the real reason why ONLY the english cast was fired, was because of the new unions and strikes (for better pay) in the west, including Live Action *and* Voice Actors :/ ... TLDR : they wanted cheaper VAs

Well, it looks like Sony took over the localization and recast the game with their actors so they could market their products. Square Enix had to submit otherwise Sony wouldn't have approved of the game most likely, that's why Square Enix tried to find actors that sounded like their cast out of the Sony actor pool to keep the consistency.

Younger don't mean good, and plus How the way Final Fantasy 7 story is going I kind of don't want them back, but that's just my opinion, but then again, if they do come back it'll make me stomach this so-called remake.

@@joshz2491 Agreed. Zack especially in Rebirth is leagues better than his own performance in Remake and CC. Anyone disliking the new cast, not individual characters but the recast collectively as a whole, is definitely being influenced by nostalgia.

Playing Remake right now. Burton was better. Same for the Sephiroth voice actor.
