Steve Carell, a former correspondent on The Daily Show, returned to The Late Show 25 years after his first "Even Stevphen" sketch. Carell argued with then-correspondent Stephen Colbert on the show, mocking their arguing on cable news. Colbert, who turned 60 on Monday, countered with an argument that aging is a good thing. The two appeared to trade barbs over each other's age before roasting each other over everything else. However, they eventually admitted to enjoying each other's company and rekindled their friendship. Carell promised Colbert that he would always be there for him, and the segment ended with Carell wishing Colbert a happy 60th birthday.
