Well I'm not as motivational as the Australian correspondent below, but I did predict guile and stealth over youthful exuberance. I'm pleasantly surprised to see a draw but would have loved to have seen a force 4 race minimum to bring a high speed chess approach to the racing. I feel I ought to sign off with some form of riposte to Australian gung ho. It's not me, but once again don't forget the whole pyramid of sailing on which our two competitors perch at the top. Here's a thought: next race, still age versus youth. But, the skippers have their crew selected by a 2019 Dinghy Show Ballot (still enough time to set up) and somehow to exclude (if I may be so bold) the standard racing enthusiasts and bring forward those new to the sport across all ages. Lead up to the race to be filmed to see the differing motivational techniques and teaching styles. That'll do for now.

I hate to be the one to make the nerdy comment, but 1851 was not the America's cup, it was called the 100 Guinea Cup at the time, only after years of American teams defending the cup it was renamed America's cup. I pretend that Steve gives me a Rooster voucher next time we meet at Stokes
