Well it won´t get better than this! Custom modular synths and real cathedral acoustics ... awesome mixing engineer. Stunning VJ art. Wow! Steve and Gaz are Teamplayers ;) Bravo! I am happy modular heads bring back live synth music on stage and literally end the ongoing this-synth-sounds-better-than-that-one debate with their mind-blowing live acts. But I have to say this performance is outstanding :DD LOVE IT!!

I almost bought an Analog Four from Steve Davis on Facebook marketplace a couple of years ago but then decided I didn't really need it. He also had a few modules for sale so it was obviously a hobby of his. It still seems a rather bizarre turn of events remembering him as the snooker legend.

Nice one Gaz! Took a moment to draw me in, but I quite like it by the end. Well done! Something else entirely, a while ago you mentioned about maybe have a interview/conversation with Rick Smith on your show. I would still be mighty interested in that! As Underworld have a new album coming out soon. Now would perhaps be a good time. Being part of their media publicity tour, so to say. So if you haven't already asked, maybe you could slip in there somewhere, no? Anyways, just thought I'd mention that. Anyway, looking forward to parts 2 & 3 of this!

I notice at 4.08 the red is getting its own back! Ok i spent the first half of the vid thinking about not so witty things to comment on Steve. By the second half his other profession had become im material. This is great music and has a power to it. Visuals are stunning, i would imagine live it would be amazing, next stop the crucible sheffield...oh dear.

The first four minutes sound like something I recorded myself about 40 years ago, using a defective flanger pedal🤔. Shame I lacked the confidence to continue doing experimental music😕.

I read the story a few weeks ago with intrigue, but come on guys, is that it? I was doing more in 1982 in my school years with an SH-101 and a Boss DM2 pedal!

@@synkrotron well none of my cassette recordings from 40 years ago survive, and I took at least 20 year hiatus while "life" got in the way, before reforming a covers band from school after 27 years for a 30 year school reunion in 2017. I was a Roland fan back in the day and that's where I dabble now JDXi, SH01a, JX03 and recently a Jupiter X recorded via Ableton, so not into modular by any means. But I was taught synthesis by Steve Howell pre Sound On Sound fans who then went onto design products for Akai and now designs soundscapes for artists including JMJ. I'm no recording artist I just dabble...but I would have thought electronic music would have moved forward beyond early 70's Tangerine Dream (but not as good). So yes, I was disappointed.

@@gregmorgan51 thank you for sharing your story, Greg at the end of the day it's not about moving on or improving as you can tell from the rest of the comments there is an appetite for this kind of live performance
