Most centuries in one tournament. Youngest ever world champion. 8 years at number one. 5 WC’s and 5 masters in a row. 28 matches unbeaten at the crucible and the highest win rate there. Only player to get triple crowns in 2 successive years. Would have got much more ranking titles as there are twice the amount of ranking titles available in 2024.

I loved Davis growing up. I like his personality too and think he"s always conducted himself well. Stephen was a bit miserable when he was winning everything, but no doubt a phenomenal player. Ronnie is the greatest for me,but personality wise i feel Davis and Hendry's more level headed composure made them practice harder and represent the sport with a higher level of decorum than Ronnie who i find a bit wayward. Hendry is more easy-going since his retirement i feel,so i've warmed to him more in his later years.

People keep saying how high the standard has become, and while this might be true overall, I think that the years from 97 to 04 or so will always have the best top level snooker we'll ever see, with Hendry still going strong, the Class of 92 winning their first world titles, tough competitors like Doherty and Ebdon in their prime, Hunter and Stevens gunning in their early 20s... good times!

There will always be the debate about whether Hendry or O'Sullivan is the greatest. It depends on people's view of what makes someone the best. Hendry dominated in the 90s, winning 7 World titles in a short space of time. You could argue that Ronnie is better, as he's been near his top form for 25 years, also winning 7 titles during that period. People will have their own views about whether winning so much in a short time is better than someone who takes 20 years to achieve the same. It's good that they both respect each other now.
@Steve-j2g3f

@@kwilson5832 It's all about opinions, but for me it has to be Ronnie. Hendry was dominant in the 90s but it was mainly White who was his main rival back then and Parrott to a lesser extent. Davis was past his best although he was still a quality player in the early 90s. Ronnie has won the Worlds in 3 different decades although personally I don't think he'll win it again to get to no 8.

@@Steve-j2g3fwhatever your opinion on who’s better, this is nonsense. I very much doubt that you were watching then if you can say this. The world rankings at the start of the 96-97 season was already Hendry, Higgins, Doherty, Williams. In this actual video it shows him beating Ronnie in the SF and Mark Williams in the 1999 final. Higgins was the other semifinalist.

@@demetrimanasses6240 If you read my reply properly and thought before answering then you would see Hendry won 5 World titles between 90-95. This was the period when it was Hendry v White. I'm not going into detail as to who I am but trust me I saw a lot of snooker and played to a good standard.

Steve was magnificent, Stephen though moved the game forward by opening the bunch up when potting reds - potting one then bouncing off the bunch to still be on the black. Previously the bunch was opened when potting the colour, leaving much more to chance. Stephen also potted his way out of trouble when apparently in a safe position time and time again. For me it's Stephen, not O'Sullivan, who's the GOAT.
