Steve Davis - sheer legend. Taught the world that the game can rise to new levels. Paved the way for future stars like Hendry, Higgins and O’Sullivan. 👏👍

Steve Davis last ranking title came 16 years after his debut, Alex Higgins 18 years, Hendry 20 years, Jimmy White 24 years and Ronnie's at 29 years!
@jamescollings18342 жыл бұрын
Correction on Alex Higgins. He actually only won 1 ranking event and this was 10 years after his debut. This is due to the fact that all the other titles he won were non-ranking.

It wasn’t Steve’s last Ranking Event win as he won the 1997 Masters against Ronnie O’Sullivan so the title is wrong but great video nonetheless who doesn’t love Steve Davis!?

The end of an era. Tried changing his game to keep up with the younger breaking through players when he didn't need to. Over complicated everything and never recovered. One of the all time greats and always will be.

He did his game was slightly outdated
@stephenn40342 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. He kept looking for ways to change his game, he didn't need to. Just play like you did against JP in the WC 89 final. It was a lack of confidence, nothing else. The other chap who replied saying his game was outdated, is totally wrong. Davis' style of play is now seen in most players since

@@stephenn4034 How many centuries did Davis make in the 89 worlds? The occasion got to Parrot and he didn’t play at all. Steve good player but Hendry found him out and other players did.
@stephenn40342 жыл бұрын
@@alanchamberlain9902 Sorry but that's wrong, it was Hendry modelling his style of play on Davis' that enabled him to dominate in the 90s. Everything from his cue action, practice, the right mental approach and the tactical side of the game. The only thing he found out regarding Davis was how to win major championships

Sheer legend at snooker yes but has gone right down in my eyes. The number of young people now passing away taking drugs because of mental health is rising but Steve thinks it would be fun to play Dennis Taylor while on drugs. What kind of message is this sending to todays generation and being disrespectful to all those families who have lost people because of drugs. Stay a legend Steve do not do it and condemn drugs all together.
