I was lucky enough be there for this! It was awesome!! Steve stayed to meet the fans and sign stuff. I have been listening to him since I was a kid bucking bales in the field. I don't get star struck but I will never forget that day! Steve Earle is the man!!

When Steve does eventually pass on and our children's children come to us and ask us who Steve Earl was, I think every grandparent should play this video for them. This right here was the true Steve Earl. Just a man, his voice and a mandolin. This rendition did more for me than the original with all the bells and whistles. I've always known Steve was a master musician, I just never realized he was a modern Mozart.

Just because people do not act as you would does not mean that they don't appreciate the music. In some venues, quiet attention to an artist is more appropriate. This isn't a rock show, it is an in-store appearance at an independent record store, and I expect these folks are pretty serious music fans.

It is a short show at a record store during the day. I wouldn't expect the same energy as a regular show... but I think they are loving it.

Hi Mandotwang. Just incase you are interested? It's not a normal one piece thumbpick. It's a Bumblebee pick. Basically it's like a plectrum with a free floating thumb strap so you can adjust the angle and depth of the pick. Steve seems to use them on everything? They are not cheap, but they are a good bit of kit.

Lol! Steve absolutely hates doing this song! He told me so himself. It just pisses him off when someone yells "Copperhead Road!" I've seen him chew people's asses for yelling it out at shows. It is a damn fine song though...
