I lived in Nashville back in the 80’s and 90’s when Steve was playing more frequently so I went to see him every chance I had. Rates in the top 5 musicians I have ever seen. And I “grew up” in the 70’s and saw the best!

Happens when you are as prolific as he is. I am surprised he can remember some of these songs at all. I say this having seen him Solo, with Bluegrass Dukes and various incarnations of the Dukes and doing different songs, sometimes with different instruments, in different contexts.

I guess Steve was a skater back in '97 with the chain wallet and everything. If you look close you can see his board leaning against the drums in the back.

never heard that one, he was just out of jail and clean for the first time in years. I know that much.

Pretty sure the chain wallet is something that he picked up when he was hanging out in biker bars, and bikers were wearing them well before 90s skater culture..... And it was functional because he was also spending a lot of time in sketchy areas buying drugs in the 80s and early 90s.
