I recall enjoying “Romeo’s Tune” as soon as I heard it, right after my first visited Oswego State, the college I’d attend in eight months. I believe that Forbert was the last new singer I heard in the ‘70s (December 27, 1979 on WFBL in Syracuse, NY). This song is just as great!

Been a fan since Alive on arrival in 78 . Met him once at a gig in Poughkeepsie New York . He signed his name for me and wrote “ best good luck and all “ . You’ll recognize the lyrics from going down to Laurel .

I've been a Steve Forbert fan since he started in our mutual hometown, Meridian, MS, and will always be one. A great performer and an epic songwriter. He's playing at Eddie's Attic in Decatur Ga. If I could find someone willing to make a 4 1/2 hour road trip with me, I'd be there. All of my old concert traveling friends are gone now it seems. Such is life...maybe there is a song lyric in there somewhere Steve :).
