Based on what I've seen, I have a feeling this book is going to go down in history as one of the great drum instructional books. Along with Stick Control and Syncopation, this will be one of those resources ALL drummers have. There is very little more that Steve can do for the drumming community now. He truly has done everything. Legend of legends. ❤

I think you’re gonna be right. It’s gonna be one of the top 10 drum books of all time. - - - it’s just a lot of fun and challenging, which I can appreciate..

I’ve been looking for a book with warmups and rudiments. Stick control for me is kind of boring. I’ve been dabbling in drumming for years but I’ve always wanted to work on a pad. I’m not that great I’d say I’m intermediate. Is this a book I can get into? I’m still new to rudiments as well.

I’m hoping so but I’m curious why 95% of it is flam sticking. Should have been called flammaments.I bought it anyway, so we’ll see.

Thanks Dom, not just for interviewing but adding your comments for clarity, and expansion and to Steve for providing your work to the drum world. I was lucky also starting in a local drum corps and then getting onto a drum set. Our Drum and Bugle Corp was locally funded and was free to any who joined. I sadly feel this is not done so much any longer.

This is Amazing! Steve Gadd has written a book of the rudiments and patterns he has demonstrated for years in so many drum clinics. What a great wealth of knowledge this is for every drummer. Definitely a collector’s item and a book that will keep us practicing for a very long time. Thank-you both Steve and Dom for your never ending commitment to make the drumming community much better. You guys are living legends!

I went back to the basics 11 years ago practicing six to eight hour a day every day plus gigs. I have 15000 hrs. of Rudimentary practice off the Stick control book, Rebound, Syncopation book, Regime, The Wilcoxon ect. And I received Gaddiments for Christmas and I continue to March on. I love this book. Thank you Professor Gadd for this is how I spend my time in peace 🤓🥁👍🏼

Love Gadd and Dom. I Love to watch Dom as Gadd plays something, he watches and listens very intently. There’s a lesson in that itself!

Hey Dom, great interview! Steve, thanks SO much for your amazing inspiration and contribution you continue to share with the WORLD! 20 books just arrived at Drumtek Australia. SO EXCITING!!!! I recall the special and memorable moments we shared together on the road during the SGB tour in 2016, including the BHG tour in 2018....I recall how you would warm up back stage playing some of these unique rudimental patterns and solos. WOW!!!! You blew my mind even before you hit the stage. HUGE CONTRATS STEVE from Frank, Rosanna and all the Corniola family. WE LOVE YOU xox

Until now, I could only have imagined what my dog experiences when given a fresh snewy leg bone to chew on - now I know. Gaddiments is that luscious chewbone that that will keep drummers happy, entertained, engaged and coming back for more - Just my humble assessment so far ☺️ Thank you Steve! And thank you Dom for your excellent insights - they are all true!

Dom, hey man, great to see you! Brian Knave here, you might remember me from NAMM shows, or Long Island Drum Center (loooong ago), or even from when we first met (at a clinic you did with Billy Cobham back in East TN, mid 80's). Anyway, thanks for doing this spot on Steve's book! I'm kinda late to the game (as usual!), my copy just got here last week. But yeah, what a great, musical and very challenging collection for us lifers! I'm so digging it. Thanks for the heads- up, and thank Steve for me if you see him sometime. (so yeah, I kinda disappeared from CA a while back, been living in Brazil for the past 20 years or so, enjoying a crazy busy career playing and recording here...) Ok, Dom, thanks again and best always. Take care man, and hope to see you again someday.

4:12, this is actually an inaccurate description of the exercise. The whole paradiddle is actually displaced for each bar, not the flam.
