While his ghost notes on the snare are always a delight, i particularly enjoyed the way he trilled the cowbell, early on. I'm 76 years old, have been playing kit since 1962, and I have never heard that before. Ever the enovator!!!!

He’s my fav. Super creative. Not just blazing speed, although capable. Great taste and finesse.

Same beat from the "drum battle" with him, Weckl and Vinnie C...Best I ever heard Steve was on Aja...That's some sick drumming!

The best example of Gadd's drumming I've heard. He's in the very few extraordinary. 7:06 long drum clinic.

The only drummer where not only do you need to nail the bass to the floor to stop it from moving , you also need to bolt his throne / stool to the floor as well !!!!!........................... Erik

The master is hin absolute prime! What a hard hitter he could also be, in a good way off course.

He's the only drummer I've ever seen use the wrong end of the sticks.... And I love it. Does anyone know why he does that? Different sound or better feel. I'd like to know. He's one if the best... Definitely on my list of humbly great drummers! ❤

He's the anti Buddy Rich, Carl Palmer, or Neil Peart, always incorporating space in his playing. It's what sets him apart.
@danlc954 ай бұрын
Neil used a lot of space in his playing.

It's obvious he's a very good drummer. Too bad it not very pleasant to watch him play. It's as if he's in pain somehow. There are a lot of very good drummers who are graceful as well. I guess it would be best for me to just listen to him, and not watch him.
