Taken from his live album "Time Lapse". I saw this tour at the Coach House in California. Earlier that afternoon Steve was at Tower Records in Irvine for a meet and greet. I walked in and he was there all alone. I asked him to sign a copy of my Bay Of Kings CD and told him that finding his albums in the states wasn't easy. He said "Oh yes, we're working on that". I remember being surprised there wasn't a crowd around him. Nice guy...hard to believe that was more than 30 years ago.

Steve Hackett is the most under-rated guitarist since Roy Buchannon and Bill Nelson. He does it all every style.

Dude is rocking the Harmonica, dude is palying Zylophones using a keyboard, Steve Hackett is wailing like Jimi Hendrix, hard to beat this. Thats Steve's little brother John Hackett on Flute, Guitar, Bass Pedals. The Hackett brothers! sooo underrated.

Steve's playing has only improved with age. Pretty much every album from Dark Town to present is fantastic!

BTW, did Fudge Smith substitute for Gary O'Toole for this tour? Actually, looking at the line-up for Wild Orchids, I think I just answered my own question. It seems that Julian Colbeck also subbed for Roger. I have to wonder why.

This was 1990. Gary didn't join Steve's band until 2001, and Julian Colbeck had just joined as keyboardist, replacing Nick Magnus. Ian Ellis and Fudge Smith's appearances in Steve's band were one-offs. This concert was a one-off show recorded at the East Midlands Television Centre in Nottingham for Central TV. By this point, according to his autobiography _A Genesis in My Bed,_ Steve had developed such severe stage fright that he had to see a doctor for hypnosis to be able to do this show in the first place!

Something sounds out of tune to me, or is perhaps playing the wrong note.
