Since Biden took office, there seem to have been more unfavorable results in America. These results include effects on the markets, such as price declines and sharp increases in inflation, as well as bank failures. I wonder if the sudden increase in interest rates will help value investors or if it would be wiser to stay away from the stock and financial markets for the time being.

I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. Given the persisting global economic crisis, it's essential for individuals to focus on diversifying their income streams independent of governmental reliance. This involves exploring options such as stocks, gold, silver, and digital currencies. Despite the adversity in the economy, now is an opportune moment to contemplate these investment avenues.

The pathway to substantial returns doesn't solely rely on stocks with significant movements. Instead, it revolves around effectively managing risk relative to reward. By appropriately sizing your positions and capitalizing on your advantage repeatedly, you can progressively work towards achieving your financial goals. This principle applies across various investment approaches, whether it be long-term investing or day trading.

I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

Yep, it's all abt money supply and right now there's more in markets than ever before. Do not confuse this with the value of assets which is the result of how much money there is in the system. The true value of money diminishes with more money printing based on basic economics of demand and supply. Interest rates, as a monetary tool, are used to moderate money supply by pushing or directing the flow of money whether in money markets or whatever investible asset. Right now, regardless of who's in charge at the Hill, we're looking at a runaway train situation.
@bruceposch14492 ай бұрын
Historically, yes when money supply contracts, the economy slows and inflation drops. But what happens to the US domestic economy/inflation when all the US dollars that were exported around the world in trade deficits over 40 years, come back on US shore? How does fit that into the formula? That is inflationary for the US market, and I am curious how economists are going to measure it, when the world decides to dump their dollars/ treasuries?

Professor Henke is brilliant. I can see how the money supply means everything. We outsource all of the manufacturing jobs at Apple, just picking on them. At any given time, Apple can supply China, Vietnam and India with production jobs from 350,000 to 600,000 workers. These workers make $800 per month. Not only that so many other jobs Apple has are outsourced. I see Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nividia, and all these big Pharma companies do this. The jobs in the US are essentially just working for Chinese distribution centers called Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes and so on and don’t pay wages that are good. Picture if these Mega Companies and others if they had to make everything right here except what they needed to import such as a raw material to make a Micro Chip because again there would be no need to have Microchips made in Taiwan at TSMC but of course we wanted to pay workers less and one big one, hide the massive coal pollution not to mention these companies not having to pay taxes. I could keep going but picture if everything was made here. For one, none of those big corporations would be worth trillions because they would have to pay. They never would have had competition if they didn’t outsource everything we came up with in Engineering so free trade is great but not at the expense of giving away what we designed. So to me the real definition of an economy is the following. It is to Engineer and Design, Manufacture and sell goods here and around these world. So with that definition we no longer have an economy and we no longer have a way of getting a money supply except but to print money. That is my take on it. I am 65 an Engineer and lived Manufacturing and Design in America. Western Electric and Bell Labs who by far everyone still is living off what the Bell Lab PhDs did to this day. Dave Packard and Bill Hewlett formed HP and Silicon Valley. Their company fed so many but supported the money supply and we flourished with competition. Competition is now gone, we are so old. Sure phones got smaller but that isn’t revolutionary like something new. The internet, carrying frequencies, all that was already invented before the dismantling of America in the 80s. Since then all we have done is make fake economy’s and they all fail and we just print more money hence all of this inflation, Recession and money printing it’s all we have.

But - we can no longer print money, The dollar as we speak is being DEVALUED !!!!!!
@Home123-zj9bb2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for the like. As for the dollar being devalued comment. Yes I agree 100% and I think it has devalued over I think 20%. M x V = P x Q. M is the money supply. V is the Velocity of money of money exchanging hands for goods. Q is the volume of transactions or real GDP. With no Production of goods in itself is where the problem is where the money supply drops over time and it leads to more money printing to supply money. Milton Friedman the Professor Henkes mentor who talked was for free trade. I listened to him and he said free trade is great where if you want to make a pencil and need to raw materials from around the world it is perfectly fine. What he didn’t say though was to outsource our knowledge in Engineering, our ability to Produce or manufacture goods. If we don’t design, manufacture and sell goods his formula shows exactly what will happen to the economy and he is proving it over time. Even during the Pandemic, everyone was staying home. No money was exchanging hands and no goods were being produced which in this country continues to shrink. That said all we were left with was Money = Printed money. The money in circulation was horrendous in the trillions. Not only that even after people went back to work, they continued to print money in the trillions. With so much money in circulation by being printed and not from producing goods and services, the equation that the prices of good would only go up because people were not spending money yet printing money was causing the prices of good to go up and hence inflation. so then the federal reserve does all I can do go in reverse and raise interest rates to take out the money supply. so they first print money and then they squeeze it out by interest rates. It’s so bad. That’s why I agree with the professor where it’s all about the money supply, but where the money supply comes from is crucial and it’s not coming from producing goods and only being printed then formula shows how we are caught in this downward never ending spiral.
@RWM00002 ай бұрын
I think there should be a law that the money supply can only be increased by .005% of the previous years GDP. We are where we are because essentially there is no limit on the money supply.

It is interesting how the word "gaslighting" has become very popular and widely used, but it seems to be used mostly wrongly. Gaslighting means saying things to undermine, and erode anothers confidence in them making their own judgements, losing confidence in their own abilities to see how things are. That is what the media/corporations has/have done by convincing us of something, e.g. milk is bad for you, until it becomes widely accepted, then coming out and saying that it is actually good for us. At the point of this realization we have become "gaslighted". Not me, however, or others who think for themselves.

With respect to the Prof... the increase in money supply was quickly counteracted by the money "sink". Most of the money created as a result of the "covid" event did not end up in the pockets of the proles. The population was not chasing goods because they had toooo much money - i.e. pull inflation. What we experienced was push inflation...energy prices filter through the whole economy... due to the engineered war in Ukraine... btw, wars are great for the economy, they usually save the economical "ship" from sinking.
@o4pureh2o2 ай бұрын
How does the war in Ukraine affect energy prices in the rest of the world? In New Zealand and Australia our electricity and fuel doubled but we should be self sufficient in both. NZ is largely hydro power.

The economic crisis and downturn are all the signs of 2008 market crash 2.0, so my question is do I still save in the US dollar or is it okay to move all emergency and savings to precious metals?
@joshbarney1142 ай бұрын
In light of the ongoing global economic crisis, it is crucial for everyone to prioritize investing in diverse sources of income that are not reliant on the government. This includes exploring opportunities in stocks, gold, silver, and digital currencies. Despite the challenging economic situation, it remains a favorable time to consider these investments.

Investing in gold is a reliable choice, and I plan to keep buying more to make up for my losses. While silver is also a good investment, my collectibles are not as similar. It's important to have clear investment goals and educate yourself on the type of investment that interests you. I work with a financial consultant regulated by the SEC, and started small, but eventually accumulated almost $820K.

It depends on which sector was able to secure long term low interest rates 'when' rates were low. Banks may have had a role in directing the benefits of fixed low longterm interest rates. However, banks may become vulnerable accordingly.

People are broke. Lowering rates is not going to help much
@bpb55412 ай бұрын
In fact eh opposite. If we want prices to come down... we need rate hikes not rate cuts. But rate hikes mean more unemployment. So folks want their cake and eat it too. But they just going to grind themselves into the ground. We either keep inflating... to the point where no one can afford anthying and then we get more unemployment (which is what I think happens) and then we carsh or we just crash. Either way we crash.

The reason gold miners aren't rising with gold is because their profitability is crushed right now due to high operational costs due to rates and input costs. Once the Fed starts QE printing again, that's when all commodity miners surge.

Where does the compensation for "waiting" come from ? If the funds are kept in a box while they wait no compensation would be possible. By saving in an institution such as a bank that puts the "waiting funds" to productive service that is the only way that "waiting" could receive compensatiom.

Now is the time to run this country according to the Constitution. Every American would prosper. Fair world leadership and fair trading would also help other countries. Those coming to America illegally wouldn't jump so fast to leaving their home if there is freedom and opportunity for them. Many Americans can see Congress and other officials are simply not competent in the operation and management of a budget nor decrease the potential for wars. One of the first steps is to stop stealing from budgets or using it for unapproved purposes. Also, get all foreign control of government departments/agencies out of America. Last: Stop immediately and close up funding poor policies, programs that don't produce any benefits for America.

Let's not be silly... all this stuff is on a lag. We are feeling what Trump did not Biden. We still have that coming. Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden have added around $7 trillion each to the total debt burden during their terms. Trump shut down the whole economy, gave out the largest tax cuts in history and gave out stimis (all highly inflationary). But someone how folks forgot this.... and we want to vote him back in again. Biden was bad, Trump was way worse.
