My father never made me feel like I didn't come from him, my dad has always gone to bat for me even sometimes when he shouldn't have. @@kimberlyhenderson4806: I am saddened by the cancellation of his talk show as well, BUT.....I'm pretty sure I know the reason. Listening to him telling women NOT to pursue men, sounded like some antiquated talk from the 1950's. A period of time when people got married and stayed married even when they were OBVIOUSLY miserable and discontent in that marriage. Watching how my mother conducted herself regarding man-woman relationships, is exactly the example I did NOT want to follow so, I didn't. Over the years, I have pursued men to whom I was attracted and, those relationships were NOT ended because I was the aggressor. They ended because, our pace wasn't in sync and, most of all, in my more adult years(I am 50+, never married)I refuse to spend more than 6 months in a union that will not result in marriage. Plus, I NEVER subscribed to "shacking up" with ANY man!!

This hits home for me, I grew up without a father. What hurts more isn't the fact he's gone, it's the fact that he's out there still and hasn't turned back for us, it's the fact that he left us and didn't come back, it's the fact that I've seen him with my own eyes until I was 7, felt his embrace close by and saw his back turn and walk away. It's the fact that the person I'd wait for everyday near the front door to come back from work to leave out of that same door without another glance and its the fact that he was my hero, he was the man I looked up to, it was the man that I expected to protect me more than anyone else. The heart break still remains, as a girl we're more attracted to the love of fathers. I didn't have that, I'm 18 now and my one goal in life is to have a family and be a family. Steve Harvey, I applaud your fatherhood, watching you make me feel that sense of love from a father. Thank you.

YEAH! I am really honored to watch this. A Black Man who truly stood up to being their for his children and his wife's children. I think Mr. Steve Harvey has truly showed America that Black Men can be good fathers irrespective if they are his seeded children or another man's seed. His children are wonderful and I do hope that they turn out to always be there for their parents. By the way, Ms. Harvey is one beautiful African American woman who is proud of her Black Man.

This makes me appreciate my dad more. My dad is a very strict Jamaican. However, the one thing I appreciate is the fact that he work unbelievably hard for us. He works at a flea market every Sunday just to make ends meet, buy food, and pay bills. I love my dad so much.

My father came and left, until 2009. I used to look up to him and so whenever he left, i broke down as a kid. This year on the 30th of May, he was buried. I was here in varsity, writing my exams. I did'nt even shed one tear and i dont feel bad about that. I am not angry at him, he was just absent. Steve is a great father. I will be a great father too.

Irvine Marule i have the very same story my father chose drugs over me but the point that got me where i am today is the fact that my father stopped using drugs but my mom stepped up to the plate and played both my mother and my father i will always be greatful for my mom for that god rest both my parents souls and grandparents souls i am who i am simply for my mom raising me on her own with no help and she did a damn good job raising me on her own
