Steven Paul Jobs, aka Steve (San Francisco, February 24, 1955 - Palo Alto, October 5, 2011), was an American entrepreneur, computer scientist and inventor. [1]
He was the co-founder of Apple Inc. and served as its chief executive until August 24, 2011, when he resigned for health reasons (assuming the position of chairman of the board). He also founded the NeXT Computer company. He was also the founder and CEO of Pixar Animation Studios prior to its purchase by the Walt Disney Company, of which he was also a member of the board of directors as well as a major shareholder.
It has introduced successful products such as Macintosh, iMac, iPod, iPhone and iPad. He was among the first to understand the potential of the mouse and the graphical interface based on the use of icons and windows for drop-down menus [2], present on Xerox Star, creating the Macintosh. Jobs was ranked # 1 in the 25 Most Powerful Businessmen for 2007 by Fortune [3] and Person of the Year 2010 by the Financial Times. [4] Many well-known people in the United States have made statements about Steve Jobs' death, including Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Bob Iger, Mark Zuckerberg, Sergey Brin, Larry Page, Tim Cook, Meg Whitman, Steve Ballmer and Richard Stallman.
