I love the fact that Vincent came on and played a simple groove and that Steve wasn't dismissive of it and genuinely gave him amazing feedback. Steve is the man! Well done Vincent too.

I'd argue a simple groove is what was warranted! A simple groove even a beginner can play you can REALLLY hear the difference Steve made just by his touch. a true master

What a refreshing clinic. Steve Jordan doubled Vincent's playing quality in one minute and really pulled the audience in.

Finally, a good way of teaching. Instead of a super-gifted drummer playing impossible stuff to an audience that doesn't understand anything of what's going on, he actually makes the guy play better in one minute just by using better dynamics.

Yep, it's good to see that he didn't change the guys drumbeat. he simply played the exact same beat and just embellished a little therefore making the sound a bit more funky but still attainable. Cool lesson.

On one of Booker T. and the MGs records I noted drums were credited to Steve Jordan, I had not heard of him until I heard John Mayer’s Who Do You Think I Was and I really loved the drum working, sounded very vintage and classic, saw the name credited again to Steve Jordan, so I kept watching videos of him by himself or with a band, he knows his sound and his instrument truly he makes a connection with his instrument and audience. Only Steve Jordan could have played for The MG’s after that of the great late Al Jackson because Mr. Jordan embodies the music and through just his playing in the pocket you have to feel something if you have a heart listening to him, same way was with Al Jackson Jr. Both drummers in my list of influential drummers!

HELLO FELLOW DRUMMERS, THIS IS GLEN. I LOVE STEVE JORDON , AND I HAVE A TON OF RESPECT FOR THIS MAN. I WISH THAT WE COULD HAVE SEEN MORE VIDEO FROM THIS MASTER CLASS TECH. BUT I UNDERSTAND. I'M NOT SURE WHAT WAS DISCUSSED WITH VINCENT, [ THE FIRST DRUMMER ]. BUT I WISH STEVE WOULD HAVE COMMENTED ON VINCENT'S TECHNIQUE IN THE FIRST 7 MINUTES. BEING A DRUMMER FOR 45 YRS, A DRUM LINE INSTRUCTOR , AND PLAYING IN MANY TYPES OF BANDS, I LOVE TO HELP OTHERS IN AS MANY WAYS THAT I CAN. I HAVE PLAYED IN MANY CONTEMPORARY PRAISE AND WORSHIP BANDS, AND I HAVE A LOVING HEART TO WANT TO HELP GIVE ADVICE AND OTHER DRUMMING TIPS TO ANY ONE . JUST BY LISTENING, YOU CAN TELL THAT VINCENT ISN'T HOLDING HIS STICKS PROPERLY HERE IN THE VIDEO. THEN AFTER WATCHING HIM, HIS FINGERS ARE NOT IN THEIR CORRECT POSITION. I SAY THIS BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH THE DRUM BEAT WAS SLOW, THERE STILL WASN'T ANY DRIVE TO IT. IF VINCENT HAD ATTEMPTED TO PLAY FASTER WITH ANY DRIVE, HE WOULD HAVE DROPPED HIS STICKS, ESPECIALLY IF VINCENT ATTEMPTED TO PLAY ANY FILLS. IN THIS VIDEO, VINCENT NEEDED TO USE BETTER STICK CONTROL, AND TECHNIQUE. VINCENT CAN STILL PLAY SOFT AND QUIET, BUT WITH BETTER STICK CONTROL. VINCENT STILL PLAYED THE DRUM BEAT SLOW, BUT IT HAD POWER AND DRIVE BEHIND IT , AFTER STEVE SHOWED HIM. I DON'T KNOW, BUT I HOPE STEVE TOLD HIM TO USE BETTER STICK CONTROL., BECAUSE VINCENT'S FINGERS ARE STILL TO FAR APART OM THE STICK, AND HE IS USING HIS ARMS TO MUCH FOR HIS CONTROL, AND HE SHOULD BE USING MORE OF HIS WRISTS. THIS IS BASIC 101 STUFF, AND I WORRY ABOUT SAFETY. BECAUSE, BAD TECHNIQUES WILL LEAD TO POOR HEALTH ISSUES. THIS IS JUST MY OPINIONS GUYS. DON'T BASH ME IF YOU DISAGREE. I AM OPEN FOR OTHER SUGGESTIONS. THANKS, GLEN
