+*Harold Hunt* Who and what are you replying to? We have no way of knowing. Please, Harold... In the future, when replying to a KZbin comment, use that person's REPLY button, so the rest of us will know who you're addressing and what you're talking about. CBS and Paramount boldly flushed Trek down the toilet...

It is a small thing to bring up, but I'm going to, anyway. Vic should really permit comments on his videos. He should not fear any negativity, every producer gets them cuz you just can't please everybody, but I'm sure he would benefit from positive criticisms. He's getting criticism anyway, in an inconvenient way, through other forums. Why not make it easy on the fans?

I agree, I'd LOVE to tell him what a great job they all did on each ep! Bit silly. Jim Cawley packed it in as Kirk due to trolls!

This interview was last month so how are they going to get around the new CBS guidelines?
@SufferingFoolsMusic7 жыл бұрын
Paul Carruthers CBS isn't going to sue them for fulfilling the promises they made to donors before the guidelines were created.

SufferingFoolsMusic that's good news I really enjoy these episodes and it's a shame that CBS are putting a stranglehold on fan productions as I think STC is the best for production there are some decent others out there are not doing a bad job either, CBS are just acting the tough guy. Is there a limit on how many more episode you can make?
@kwebb1217657 жыл бұрын
Really? CBS/Paramount is not permitting Axanar to fulfill its original plans.
@SufferingFoolsMusic7 жыл бұрын
Kris Webb That's because Axanar's original plan was profiteering off the Star Trek IP and NOT making a film.

As I understand it, they were going to rent out their studio only pay off their debts, then to make more their own projects.

Wonder how CBS's new terms will affect Vic's vision of future episodes? Fifteen minutes max length, and $50k max donations per episode, seems like quite severe limitations. I read that Anaxar productions had raised about 1 million dollars to complete their film. What are they supposed to do now? Give all the money back, except for $50k? Hmmm.
@SufferingFoolsMusic7 жыл бұрын
STC is done with fundraising and shooting; eleven episodes and that's it. No future episodes to worry about. Axanar is broke - they blew through that $1.4 million like there was no tomorrow and never shot a frame of film. Now they have to go begging for more donations just to make their two 15-minute parts. It doesn't look promising for them. More info at Axamonitor.com

Oh my goodness. I followed the link and was very surprised. I admittedly had not followed Anaxar studios other than reading their own web page. Boy, that financial report was bad, and no documents to boot. Wow. Thanks for the info. I always enjoyed Vic's work, and I'm glad to hear he'll complete his episodes.

+*SufferingFoolsMusic* The fact that scenes from Axanar have already been put up here on YT (no, not the "Prelude" video) suggests that more than ONE frame of film had been shot. The scene on Vulcan alone was beautiful.
@SufferingFoolsMusic7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Vulcan scene. Shot quick and cheap in hopes of raising another 2 million. But principal photography on the film proper was interminably delayed despite the lack of a court injunction. Axanar Productions has publicly stated that the Vulcan scene is a standalone and won't be part of the finished film.
