anybody notice that steve is trapped in the trunk of the car with a white lighter ...white lighters are unlucky and steve continuously says something bad is about to happen just saying this man is a genius with visuals..
@jordeecakes6 жыл бұрын
The real history to the white lighter myth and why they are unlucky is based on four famous and revolutionary musicians of the second half of the 20th century. Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrex, Janis Joplin, and Kurt Cobain were all left-handed, all died at the age of 27, and all their autopsies reported that a white bic lighter was found in their pockets. This is why it is said that white lighters are unlucky. So if you are 27 and left-handed, don’t use a white bic lighter, you will die.
@TremondEstelle6 жыл бұрын
OG.TEZRIN yep. Same way Frank Ocean said “No white lighters til I fuck my 28th up”in his song “Nights”. He didn’t want to be a part of the 27 club so he wasn’t taking any chances using a white lighter.

Dark Red feels like a song about a person in a toxic relationship. This person knows something is wrong and that they'll likely get hurt because of it, but their partner manipulates and gaslights them to the point they become dependent on the partner. The song evokes such feelings of unease, doubt, and entrancing romance that it's terrifying to come to the realization that this isn't uncommon. Many people are in relationships like this. Maybe I'm just pointing out the obvious or digging too deep. At first I thought it was a song about anxiety in relationships, but it's cool developing my own interpretation of the meaning by watching the MV for the first time.
@rinwesley30923 жыл бұрын
That’s reading a lot into it. I don’t hear anything from the lyrics that suggests abuse. I think your first thought is more accurate and it’s about anxiety. The video adds to the narrative, but it’s definitely not in the lyrics themselves.
@lostkey73013 жыл бұрын

i agree. the “only you babe” “what if she’s fine, it’s my mind that’s wrong” obviously sounds like gaslighting of an abusive relationship.

You're totally right, this is the song of my life now. My ex gf broke with me, we were together for like 5y and I still love her, and she knows it. I mean, she broke 1 month ago probably cause I earn less in my job. We live separete, but we're still chating and hanging out sometimes, cause she is keep saying that I'm and will be the only love in her life. She still wants our sex and all, but refuses to get back in the relationship. I feel used phisically and mentally but I can't get out of this.
