Here's a similar one we did. After the boring flight to Vancouver, it was a coach which went on the ferry to Vancouver Island, then back on the coach to Victoria BC. The driver actually asked what hotel we were staying at, and took us there. Up in the morning to get the float plane to Seattle for a family reunion. Pretty magic, coach and boats and planes.

@@chrissaltmarsh6777 haha I know the feeling! I flew the Harbour Air seaplane service from Victoria to Vancouver harbours once and got to sit in the co-pilots seat … I guess they don’t need one on a flight so short. I’m just back from BC and flew s larger (but not that much!) Pacific Coastal Airlines Beachcraft from Penticton to Vancouver which my brother in Victoria likens to sitting in a VW van being tossed skywards by a giant slingshot! 😂Fantastic part of the world indeed. 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 ✈️

Another great video. I’ve done this route the other direction before but with Scottish Citylink where the coach doesn’t actually go on the ferry and you connect to a local bus at the Belfast end, meaning you have to transfer your bags. This service looks better. Great trip, as you say, especially on a nice day. I’m just home from Canada and last week I travelled on a very similar service from Vancouver to Victoria on the BC Ferry Connector, which is also a through coach/ferry/coach service using the same bus. A very relaxing way to travel. The driver from Vancouver was telling me he’s amazed more people don’t use it over there. I guess people really like their cars.

Yay! Steve pronounced the Glasgow bus station as Buck anan not Buch anan (Buchanan). That was my mom’s maiden name and they pronounced it Buck not Buch. I once asked my grandad why and he said it was the Scots way of pronouncing it. As an American of Scots heritage it’s nice to hear a Scotsman saying it that way. It’s a nice connection between Scotland and America.

Hi Steve...wow....so many " double decker" buses ! Both in Ireland, and Scotland. They are a bit of a rarity in Australia. I tend to see then only on Skybus routes. ( Skybus routes tend to connect larger airports with the closest CBD) Love all the seagulls perched on the bow of the ship . Did I see correctly that the drivers drive those trucks on one end of the ferry...and when they get to their destination, they drive off the other end ? Wow you know roughly how many trucks and buses it can hold ? I presume cars are on another deck.. I makes one realise just how big and tough these ferries really are ! Such lovely weather for you too .

All most a bucket list trip to make. And good on you about P&O. Once my favourite mode of transport, but not after the dirty deed done to their crews.

I had the exact same journey on the exact same coach at the exact same seat last month! Albeit leaving Belfast in the afternoon and arriving at Glasgow at around 8PM. Seeing the sun setting on the ferry and the sky went from bright to dark on the coach is wonderful:)

I really enjoyed your video. Sick in bed and it warmed my heart and made me feel better by rekindling good memories. I go by Hannon's often to Glasgow as I like the journey. Just thought I would mention Hannon's has recently moved to Belfast Bus Station. Just in case others want to do this trip.

We get great feedback about the beautiful scenery from our international travellers using the service - on a good day like Steve had it is hard to beat. Some passengers have even commented that the Ayrshire coast drive is better than many scenic tours they have been on!!! Ailsa Craig ⛰is a particular highlight 😁😁😁

After seeing a video about this service from another youtuber I thought I'd give it a go. Coming from Canada, this was my first trip to Northern Ireland and Scotland. Taking the Hannon Coach turned out to be a great way to get from Belfast to Glasgow. Highly recommended.

Nice video Steve. I was drawn to it because of the Stenna Line and Belfast. I recently took the Stenna overnight Ferry from Liverpool to Belfast. I even splurged on a cabin! Thanks for a nice reminder of travelling in the UK and the Republic. Could I interest you in visiting Canada sometime? Your recent video from Riga, and its snow covered trees, makes me think you might like it here. Keep up the good work!

Its a shame they never dualled the A77 south of Ayr which could have speeded up the journey time a bit.

@@steve-marsh I wonder would Belfast City Hall be happy for us to call it our official waiting room? 🤔😉 We are still trying to get access to the main bus station in Belfast similar to the access we get with SPT in Glasgow, Buchanan Bus Station. We will still be close to City Hall but maybe our coach won't have to circle it a couple of times before picking you up!!!🙂🙂🙂
