A man who is so well deserving of an Oscar. Glad he finally got one. Steve is rather timeless. His hair went completely white like over 2 decades ago, and he still looks the same. Close your eyes, and his voice is practically unchanged. May he go on and on... until there's no more marrow to suck out of life.

I worked on The Jerk… Carl Reiner and David Picker were solid people.. I was a young PA and they were so kind to me… His description of walking into a soundstage and a set that first day is spot on.. for those of us behind the camera as well as those on camera…. I enjoyed every bit of it.. I was late once my first week on a commercial back in 19#& and I never needed an alarm clock ever after that. I was lucky and blessed to have had a career instead of a job… and I cherish those memories.
@happycat33995 ай бұрын
The Jerk is one of my all time favorite movies👏🏼👏🏼 And up until this moment I had no idea that it was a Rob Reiner film. One of my favorite lines “ you mean I’m going to Stay this color?!?” Your career must have been fascinating! Thank you for helping to entertain us over the years! 🙏

Steve Martin's Oscar speech is how it should be done. Some people should watch this so that if they get an Oscar, they know how to give a proper speech. Not just thank themselves, but those that helped them to get where they are. Great speech Steve.

As I've aged and experienced the series of events in my 72 year old life, I've discovered the depths of emotion attached to memories of friends, my living partner, my wife and other things. I've become more emotional, not less. As I watched Steve Martin's emotional acceptance speech, I came to see that as we age, the things that were important to us live on in our memories and affect us almost as much as when they occurred.

I am enjoying the 2014 Honorary Oscar ceremony enormously, however, I must again express my disappointment that these presentations were not made at the actual Oscar ceremony on March 2nd. The concept that these lifetime achievement Oscars should be relegated to a smaller and less significant ceremony is insulting to the honorees and diminishes the importance of the award. To me, the awards to Olivier, O'Toole, Redford, Grant, Poitier, Douglas, Loren, Donen, Fellini and Edwards during the actual Oscars were the highlights of those years. Does the Board of Directors believe that these presentations don't have the same entertainment value as a Billy Crystal monologue? Incomprehensible.

One day, Tina Fey will be receiving an Honorary Oscar too! An Honorary one is better than anything the Academy can bestow : having people tell you your life was great is far more better than them telling you that out of five, your 45 min performance was the best of the year 1452.
