Wow - this is my new favorite album - glad to stumble on it - better late than never! Agree with others - the bowed bass ties it all together - superb singing and playing by all.

In 1983 I left a young woman in Lake Charles, I thought I needed more than what was there. And she never wanted to leave.....She married, had two sons and never left....I was a very small part of her life, and if she ever thinks of me, it is quite rare....I think of her most every day.

This song was written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell and is one of the songs they wrote for their Browdway musical called "Bright Star" which was nominated for a Tony award for Best Musical in 2016. I had the great pleasure of seeing the Los Angeles production of Bright Star when it went on a national tour in 2017. It is a wonderful show! If anyone out there is interested, one can put "Bright Star" Broadway musical in KZbin's search, and there are many clips from this show available, plus I found one full length, 2 hour complete version on KZbin also. Thanks to this channel for posting this.

Nice to hear Asheville in a song, along with Edie, Steve, and the Rangers. Just 10 minutes north of the city.

Mmmm, you hear Nashville mentioned a lot more than Asheville.

Then there's Cruelladeville, mentioned in an old, old Walt Disney story.

Love Edie, Love Steve, love this song, love cheesecake.
Edie Brickell is a lovely woman. Back in the early 2000s, she released an album titled, “Volcano”. A couple of the songs from it have really stuck with me through the years - “Rush Around” and, especially, “What Would You Do?”. Definitely worth a listen.

Thanks for this information. I am going to look for that album and especially those two songs (probably on KZbin, I hope).
